With exams come another round of the munchies to help tide over the stress=)

Here's some of my favourites this time round, all Japanese snacks - inspired by the newly opened Tampines 1.

Automator.. and mugging

You know those irritating '%20' stuff you get when you download files online? Well, I get it all the time at my university's eLearning portal, and when I wanted to study them before my test last week, files with names such as 'Module%206%20Middleware%20Technology%20Part%203' just wasn't going to make things any easier.

So I came up with a simple workflow in Apple's Automator and just felt like sharing. Consider this a super simple introduction to Automator=)

(For those who don't want to bother about doing it yourself, download the workflow at http://www.easy-share.com/1903953677/MagiClean%20.zip, and install in Library/Workflows/Applications/Finder)

Fire up Automator and you should see something like this:
From the Actions library on the top left, go to Library > Files & Folders, then drag out 'Get specified Finder items' to the right-hand pane.
Then scroll down and drag out 'Rename Finder items' below the previous action and fill in the options as shown below: Note: Under 'Replace', I typed in a space so you can't really see it here. You can also replace it with anything you prefer i.e. underscore, dash, etc

Finally, and most importantly, go to 'File > Save As Plug-in...' and save it as a plugin for Finder:
Quit Automator and you're done!

So any time you want to magically transform your filename, select all your files that you want to clean up, Right-click > More > Automator > MagiClean%20

And your filenames are now loads more readable!=)

Do experiment further with Automator and you'll see how useful it can be!

Japan! and the start of school

Highlight of my winter hols'08: Japan!! *my first overseas trip with carol!! (excl. cruise la)

The planned itinerary: Tokyo > Kobe > Osaka
The actual itinerary: Tokyo > Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Itami, wherever else I forgot the name of

Moral of the trip (at least, the one I learnt: the Japanese can really walk. I mean, imagine walking hundreds of metres for every transfer in the train station. I'm pretty used to our local MRT - you know, simple and relatively little walking, with escalators and lifts abound plus travelators at Dhoby Ghaut - so the lack of such life savers (lifts were renamed 'magic boxes' while we were there) was physically gruelling for poor, weak, me. Not to mention that we had luggages and what-not to carry around on upon reaching Tokyo (picture me carrying my luggage up a never-ending flight of stairs).

That aside, we really did lots of walking but went as many places as we could in Tokyo. And with the help of Carol's Japanese friends (now mine too), we visited lots of places (and ate lots too=p) around the Kobe & Osaka area. And how can I forget the trip to Arima Onsenn - a popular hot spring in Kobe! Especially after two gruelling days of snowboarding (okay, I was slacking on the second day, but still=p), the relaxing atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. There were the usual hot pools, as well as saunas, a bedrock (the ones you see in korean dramas), and an outdoor hotspring too! =) The amazing thing was, we actually bathed for 6 full hours!! Honestly, they can really bathe too. Lol.

Of course, I celebrated my 20th birthday there as well!! Carol and Eri celebrated with me at Eri's house, with a really pretty and yummy cake specially made for me by Eri! Again, I'm waiting for a very special present from my darling best friend, which I'm sure I'll get on the 30th Jan. Right? =D

All in all, it was a great trip and some of the things that happened were pretty funny now that I think about it. Cheers to another Carol & CP production!=)

It's been a really eventful term - academically, socially, emotionally. I seen more, heard more, and hopefully, understood a bit more about the people around me. I don't know how good that is though - it seems that the things I been hearing.. maybe I'd rather not know. Wave after wave.. the more I understand, the more I don't understand. Lol.

Hopefully after this term, people can be more optimistic and see things in a positive. Guess it doesn't sound very 'me', but it's quite saddening to see people so discouraged around you, yet there really isn't much you can do - it's really up to them to see things from a positive perspective.

And.. I guess different people place importance on different things. I really don't get it. Maybe I just view it differently. Just so many unanswered questions.

On the upside, I'm going to Japan!!! Wheee=DD With carol!! Wheehee! It's really been sth to look forward to - can't wait!

It's the end of the first week of school! I'm actually a lot happier now than last week, when school hadn't started. Why? Cos I've gone through each class once and it's some relief to know that they're more or less ok. (Except econs i guess but nevermind) More importantly, we've got the course outlines plus the prof's explanation of what the module's about. Even more importantly, most of the project outlines are out so we've got work to do! Sounds kinda sadistic, but it somehow feels lots better now that we know what to do so we can plan our next step.

Today was Vivace i.e. SMU CCA day! Loved the atmosphere today in school! Super happening=) Jess and I joined SMU Film Society too (aka Movie Club?) LOL. I'm not able to take this term's Intermediate Salsa class though=x Pretty disappointed about this since it served as a great destresser throughout my Year 1. Oh well.

Been thinking a lot lately. Oh wellll. Some things are just beyond our control. Bah.

That irritating carol left for M'sia on tues! Hope she can get used to the food! Wahahaha.

Beijing 2008

Was just watching the 50km Race Walk, and.. it was really amazing. The determination and perseverance shown by those guys was just so unbelievable. Especially when the champion - Alex Schwarzer - came into the stadium, I could just feel that emotion emanating from him. All that effort just paid off. Mannn it's truly amazing.

School's started! and I need to get my motivation back!

MetamorphoSIS 2008, among other things

Ok so the really big event is over. At least, it's one of the bigger events I've helped to organise so far. And I've learnt quite a lot from it, from a few photoshop tricks along the way, to invaluable lessons on human relationships. So many things have happened since we formed the organising committee - we lost a friend, but forged many new friendships. And not to forget we now have nearly 250 new members in our SIS family.

Stress levels were high and we saw some different sides of the people we usually work with, some good and some we may not want to see so often. Even then, it's quite sad that relationships may be tainted due to a few clashes in working styles. Naive perhaps, but one of the things I say about SIS with pride is that most of us know each other and are friends, and I really hope this holds true till I graduate (and beyond!).

Well, everyone made mistakes, (I think I made quite a few=x) but these are inevitable and it's probably the least we can do to grant our friends some leeway. University is afterall a stepping stone to the working world - sure, we can be pissed off and all, but as a favour to your friend, tell him/her. If it's not appreciated, then at least you've done your part and it'd be up to that person to improve.

Oh well, really hope things go well. In any case, despite feeling somewhat doubtful about my decision to join MetamorphoSIS 2008 halfway through, I'm really glad I stuck to it. It was, and still is, a success!!

School's starting again! Hmm. Just gotta do my best I suppose, not sure what to expect.

And carol's going off to KL on monday! Guess I'll (kinda) miss her. Been seeing her practically daily this week, so I'm sure she'll miss me too since she won't be seeing me for the next 2 weeks! wahahahahaha. Carol: I wanna take more polaroids!!!=D

Cruise to.. nowhere!

Went for a cruise on SuperStar Aquarius with carol last weekend! whee!

We went for lots of cruise activities tgt! Tried the sauna, massage, learnt basic cha-cha.. and danced with indians! We were quite hesitant initially cos it felt weird to be the minority there, but they were all really nice! It was like one big indian family! With kids, grandpas and so on! lollll. Hardly the dancing crowd you see back in the sunny island of multi-racial Singapore. Anw, I really enjoyed the cruise and chilling out on the deck with my most darling carol!! wheeheee.

WWDC trip to SF

Okay so I know I've not been blogging yet about my trip to San Francisco for the WWDC, but things have been just happening one after another so I've been pretty zonked out! But I'll just mention some of the main stuff we've been up to so far=D

Flight: (SIN - HK, 14 hours in transit, HK - LAX, LAX - SF)
SIN-HK was fine so I shan't go any further on that. As for the transit, let's just say we seriously seriously doubted ours was a good deal(as compared to the more expensive airlines e.g. SQ). Klaw went back home with his dad in HK, so it was down to jy and myself to while the time away. In short, we practically walked the whole of Kowloon and HK Island (yes I am exaggerating but it didnt feel too far from that) - with the shops all closed. How perfectly entertaining huh?

But that in any case managed to kill 4 hours of our time, and with help from a very helpful staff member in Crawford Lane, we found our way to the bus stop and took a bus back all the way to the airport.

The rest of the painfully long flight to LAX and the domestic flight is just that - painful. I did manage to sleep, which made it a little more bearable.

Went straight to the hostel after touching down, and the guys all slept once we got the room. Took the chance to arrange some of my stuff and settle down a little. Nothing much after that except for a quick fast food dinner at Jack-in-the-Box (our soon-to-be regular) nearby.

Pre-WWDC 1st Day
Fisherman's wharf in the morning!=)) Despite having gone there 3 times, I still love the place! Only thing was I didn't manage to get my ben and jerry's cookie dough ice-cream this time=x We basically walked around, took a look at the shops (again=p), and for the 2 photographers, took photos. I did take some photos, but not many since most of them would simply be repeats of what I'd taken before.

Saw one thing I didn't see previously though - fruits! For some reason, Walgreens, while plentiful, doesn't seem to sell any fruits at all, so seeing a wide variety here was definitely a welcome change!=D Plus the strawberries looked huge and sweet, not to mention the cherries, apples and all.

Lunch was at the Fisherman's Grotto (or something like that, can't really remember the exact name) and tried the crab chowder in a bread bowl! whee. Klaw and I bought the calamari and chips as well - bad choice! Despite sharing that one serving between the four of us, we still couldn't finish it.=x

Anyway went back to the hostel for a recharge (they slept again), then went down to Union Square. Didn't do much shopping though, just quickly browsed through stuff. (Never mind, there's the whole of next week to shop=DD)

Rest of the evening passed by without anything much happening.

Pre-WWDC 2nd Day
Woke up at 6.30am for the Asian Student's Bus Tour! Met some of the NUS, NTU students plus the HongKongers, Koreans, etc.

First stop was Stanford University!!! Totally blew us away! Campus was simply beautiful - we were like, just a whiff of the air there would somehow magically increase our IQ (and so our GPA=p) But it was seriously amazingly beautiful. I've seen campuses on TV and everything, but it never struck me as particularly outstanding nor beautiful. Seriously wish I could study there man=x Unfortunately it's only for the cream of the crop plus I've got no money so yep.

Next was lunch enroute to Twin Peaks. Since I'd never been to Twin Peaks as well, I took some photos then walked around and enjoyed the scenery. Wind was howling though, could actually hear it whistling past my ears lol.

Third stop: Golden Gate Bridge. Well..... my third time there and seriously, it's just that - a bridge. Yeah it's windy and nice and everything. But I'm no pro photographer and any photos I've taken over the last two times is probably going to be the same this time. So I happily kept my camera and just walked along with the two photographers along the bridge. Oh and I'm not sure I noticed this before, but there's this sign in the middle of the bridge that provides the suicide hotline and says "There is hope. Make the call." Guess too many suicides take place there, which really isn't that bad a choice. Pretty scenic actually. Hmm.

Last stop of the bus tour was the Palace of Fine Arts. Apparently it's some kind of science museum, but we didn't go in since it wasn't free. Lol. In any case, the exterior was pretty nice (though I still very much love Stanford University lots lots more).

After that, the bus brought us back to San Francisco, Moscone Center, to register for WWDC!!! So yup, we got our WWDC bags, pass and lanyard, and tshirt!=D After which, something pretty interesting but somewhat.. um unorthodox.. happened. Heh.

WWDC
Well, actually I'd planned to write a lot more here.. but I'm writing an article for our school publication PRISM Sept issue, so that'll be a repetition already=p So just stay tuned for a future post of my article in PRISM once the hardcopy's out! Don't want any leaks here! hahahaha.

Post-conference Roadtrip!
Don't mean to be a wet blanket here, but I'm just much too lazy to type out all the fun stuff we did during our roadtrip! We basically rented a car and roadtripped all around California!!! wheeee. In short, we went: SF > Sacramento / Davis > Lake Tahoe > Mariposa / Yosemite > Los Angeles > San Luis Obispo (Pismo Beach) > Big Sur > Monterey > San Jose (Silicon Valley) > Back to SF!

I've over a thousand photos, which really is very few compared jy/kelv, but that plus my live running commentary of what happened, most ppl took around an hour or so to complete the entire slideshow=pp So I won't be recounting the various incidents that happened here on my blog this time (*sighs of relief all round..?*) But I'd be happy to repeat my live commentary + photo slideshow for you anytime - just look for me in person!=pp

I'm really really glad I've had the chance to go for this trip! Firstly, of course to be able to attend the ultimate Apple evangelism event of the year=D Despite having little technical knowledge compared to the gurus present there, it was definitely a whole new experience for me. Secondly, spending 3 weeks with just 3 guys sounding kinda daunting to me before the trip, but after the first few days of the conference, I was totally used (well, almost!) to it and it was super fun!!!=DD

Possibly one of the more interesting hostel experiences was at Monterey -
1) Due to the summer drought, we were each allocated 2 bath tokens, with one bath token equivalent to 4 min of water! It is with great satisfaction that I now say this: I completed my bath using just 1 token!!!
2) Kelv and I bought a budweiser each earlier at San Luis Obispo, but didn't have a chance to drink it then. Unfortunately, we didn't have a fridge in the hostel room of course, but.. we had ice and salt in the hostel common kitchen. Heh. Think ice + salt + budweiser. mmmm=) Ice cold B's! LOL
3) The hostel provides all-you-can-make pancakes for breakfast, so basically they provide the pan and pancake mix, and you do the rest of the work (making the pancakes + washing up!). JY and I did come up with the pancakes of course.. though they somehow weren't as nice as that on the box. Ok maybe that was a tiny understatement. Anyhow, they were good enough to eat and I really had lots of fun making them despite the less-than-satisfactory results! =DD

So yep, sharing a room with those 3 other guys was actually lots of fun (not to mention they were really nice as well! Well, minus the constant teasing I guess lol) and as I've mentioned to all those I talked to about my trip, waking up in my own room back in Singapore was simply weird at first without them!

Conclusion: WWDC + Roadtrip was such an exhilarating experience - I wanna go overseas again!!!

made of honour!.. and parental controls

I just figured out what has been bugging my macbook! Just the day before, my macbook's been making a lot of noise - hard disk spinning at high speed + fans @ >6k rpm - it was pretty irritating cos of the noise and got me pretty worried for a while.. what if my hard disk dies on me during WWDC??? Furthermore, I surfed through mac forums and googled in depth - most recommended repairing disk permissions, which I did to no avail. Another suggested resetting the SMC, but I didn't really want to try that unless I had no other choice.

But all's well that ends well! I finally checked out iStat's 'processes' section (I had it turned off initially) and realised it was parental controls! I'd just enabled that the day before for a 'Strictly Work' user account - just trying it out since I could use it to block facebook.com and the like to prevent myself from wasting time online and concentrate on my work instead. But, on seeing that it took up 90%-100% (!!!) of my processing power, I promptly deleted that user account, disabled parental controls, and immediately restarted my macbook.

Voila! Problem solved and I'm happy again=)

Alright due to complaints from carol that I've been talking too much about techie stuff lately, I shall stop that geek talk for today!

Met up with carol and watched 'Made of Honour'!

Patrick Dempsey!! Totally our eye candy throughout the movie! Apart from that, conversation's pretty funny and it's really touching too! I won't deny that the eye candy made a (big) difference too=p Wahahaha=)

And after hearing that Iron Man's nice from carol, I'm starting to regret not watching!=x Oh well, no worries I guess, I'll get to watch it somehow heh=D

Basically, here's the summary taken from The Apple Blog:

iPhone won Best Gadget, Best Smartphone, and Most Anticipated Gadget (3G) for the editors and the readers.

How true's the above comic? hmmmm.

Had a video shooting session yesterday in school for Meta08! and it went surprisingly well and took an even more surprising 4 hours only! not bad for a first time filming and a one take video.

Just to be a little random here, i love SIS! hahaha sorry for the random patriotism but i love the people around me, all the friends I've made so far. Our first year's over and while we're all apprehensive about the 'horror' module next term (SE!) I'm sure it'll add to our memories of SIS - times we see ourselves helping each other out during crucial periods.

and I can't wait for my June San Francisco trip to Apple WWDC08!! not to mention travelling around the area for a while after that=P

and of course, the short break with carol!! wahaha. (watch out carol! I've got.. plans=D nah just kidding)

I've updated my blog design! It's a pretty simple layout and all but I sort of wanted to have two 'themes' i.e. brighter/richer colours on this left hand side, and pastel colours on the right sidebar. I'm certainly not keeping to the usual colour conventions of sticking to just a few colours, but this is my blog anyway, and I'd have more themes if it weren't so jarring to the eyes.

alright, I'm going off to meet carol now!! to catch harold & kumar=DD hope it's nice. and I'm so going to have my salty popcorn that I missed the other time.

I still wish I've got less to do. bleargh

I'm going to San Francisco!!! for the third time!!!!!! how cool is that?=DD Not only that, but I'll be there for the Apple WWDC 2008 under the Student Scholarship Program! yayy!! scholarship covers conference entrance ticket of US$1,595 plus a travel allowance of US$500. not that much, but I don't care!! I'm going to WWDC and I'll see Steve Jobs!! albeit probably not face-to-face, but it'll be great either way!!

so now my exams are officially over!! unfortunately, i've signed up for summer term classes which will keep me busy for the whole of May (which i kinda regret but oh well) so i've only got a week to chillax!

it's the happiest time of the semester again - exams! whee. the joys of optimism.

anw, i'm still mugging, and having been cooped up at home for the past.. 5-6 days?!?!? i can't wait for exams (at least i'll be out of the house, and it also means i'll be closer to the end of exams=D)!

BUT, i am fully packed after finals as well!

whee. i've been mugging. !! and i just had eggy maggi mee! yay=)

anyway the real hols will be here on 29nov!!! (love ya carol=pp i'll be waiting for u=p) which is also the first day of Sitex 2007=D hee. 4th geeky event of the year!! yay how nice huh?=)) hopefully there'll be some nice stuff around with extremely good offers. lalala. will be getting my external hard disk there, and will probably be getting leopard pretty soon after finals too=D although i do wish i could have the 4gb of RAM the Apple now offers for macbooks too=S eeks.

i'm dreaming already.

oh and innovateIT is on 8th dec!! Join us! it's a competition for JC, poly, and ITE ppl, whereby they will be given a business scenario, and using their Business cum IT skills, will have to come up with a solution for it. whee~~

and it's zhiren's birthday today! happy birthday to him! even though he doesnt read my blog. lolx. nvm.

term over is over!! at the risk of being extremely cliche, well, time really flies. there is of course our finals, but for those with only one exam, perhaps it doesn't matter as much. i will, of course, be trying my best to mug=x

anw, it's been a really packed term, though seniors may beg to differ, compared to theirs. in any case, i have never, at any one point of the term thus far, regretted my decision to come to SMU SIS=) i love what i'm doing now - though not necessarily BGS / AS, which i still think are useful despite not liking it - firstly, because i think it's really relevant to industry, and secondly, because i do really like what i'm learning. after all, everyone did say to take something u like in university, and now, i certainly agree.

BGS (Business, Government, and Society) is one hell of an ambiguous module, and one we gotta know how to crap, and crap fast. i've never been too good with crapping (lol that's why i dropped history as soon as i could right?), but it's necessary, i do believe, as basis for future modules tt i'll take in future. not so much as an actual business module, but it's a guide for us when we actually make decisions in future (like, we should at least appear to be ethical).

AS, is yet another confusing module. i like its aims - to help us think faster and more logically, to analyse an argument for it's validty and soundness - it's definitely of use.. IF we manage to apply it. it's going to take some time=x

learning new things are tough, especially when some of the ppl around u know so much already, but we can do it. each of us have our own strengths right? i mean, that's why there're so many projects and stuff, isn't it? one of the aims is to learn how to make use of each team member's strengths and help overcome their weaknesses. of course, not everyone is willing to admit their weaknesses, which is where attitude matters. especially in the world of IT, where each new technology is so quickly enhanced and replaced (SIS ppl: technological discontinuity lol=p), we've just gotta pick up stuff quickly. and if some ppl just don't want to learn, but leech upon others instead, they simply lose out. that's not to say that we shouldn't help others, but rather, help at the right time, in the right way.

lol i'm in a writing mood today, eh?

ok, change of subject. on to my favourite topic - Mac.

was walking in Sim Lim yesterday and i re-realised that Mac totally rocks~! hahaha=pp i'm so totally in love with the Mac desktop!! like, i only knew yesterday that Mac doesnt actually have a CPU, and is just a 'monitor' all-in-one! heh am i that slow? anw, it just rocks=D i'll get for my next desktop manz=DD hee.

well, i did experience a small crisis of sorts with my Mac today, BUT it's not an inherent problem, simply a problem with some files i downloaded. no problem after a boot in safe mode, and a restart=) i love my mac still=) though i wish i now have leopard, and 4GB of RAM=S lol.

by this christmas/birthday, i am so going to have Mac OS X Leopard, Wacom graphics tablet, another external hard disk (500GB and above if possible), and maybe even a nice pair of speakers to connect to my darling macbook. hmm. and 4.0GPA. lol. ohwell, i can only aim for it. my BGS and AS is so sucky right now, and i can't imagine myself writing java for IS200. craaap.

Dominoes, Morphing, Spartans

Woot! I've been really busy with cip and the various school camps!! but they've all been super duper uber fun! have a look=D

29jul: Dominoes of Dreams finale!!

then we had MetamorphoSIS 2007 from 4-5aug!! my group CONGA was super enthu and totally chionged for all the activities man=DD although it was really really tiring it was worth it!!! in between activities we just kept playing games like our signature yeeha and diudiudiu!! hahaha super funny la=D and i have managed to crack the lame games like the mrt game, around the world, johnny whoosh etcetc=pp damn lame!=p hahaha. and we won BEST OVERALL GROUP!! we will be using our $50 vivocity vouchers this friday! heeee=D CONGA sha CONGA sha CONGA sha sha sha!!

then i had my second camp - FTB camp! from 9 - 11aug! well i really didnt have a very good impression of it initially.. and it's really true that the facilities left much to be desired. BUT the activities were pretty damn funnnnnn! hahah and i had a whole new experience! i was totally lifted up to form the 'foot tower', and we hit 3metres!!! (it's basically to stack our feet heel to toe vertically upwards as high as possible) mwahaha. it was pretty exhilarating=DD

we bathed in the cubicles on the first day, and it was seriously.. ughhh. thank goodness for sansan's advice to bring an S-hook so i could hang my stuff. and it was totally clogged pls! by the time i'd finished bathing (and i was in the first batch) the water was up to my ankles.

oh and the debriefs. ok i learnt stuff.. but it has a nasty habit of being an anti-climax, esp after activities in which we were super high. but still, our faci, darren, did his job really well and managed to brainwash us about simulation. lol. not, er, stimulation.

but on to more fun stuff.. one of the most fun parts was the rafting!!!! kudos to the guys in our team! we couldnt have achieved so much without them manz!! kianlun and nat esp, as officers from ns, were totally pro in their knots and i learnt terms like square lash and um, cold fish? whatever. anw the girls tried our best to help, albeit rather negligibly. the point is, we built the best best best raft man! when we did the shake test, ours was super stable=DD then although we were the last to set off.. somehow, when we started moving off, we just happily overtook everyone else! even those who started 5-10min earlier! mwaha. and we were the firsT!! wheeeeee.

then from the second day onwards, the girls in my group started practising open concept bathing! waha. and no, we did not strip in the open. we simply rinsed off in our clothes, and shampoo-ed and everything. and phew, it was soooo much more comfortable as compared to bathing in the cubicles.

to say that final challenge on the third and last day was tiring is seriously an understatement manz. the first part was.. ahhh. i slowed down my team alot then la. cos i lost my puzzle piece was going back! ergh=x but we still pressed on! holding hands while running was crappp. i'd say that it was the holding hands that was tiring, not the running. but we completed it!!! and.. got best group for final challenge!!!! AND spartans won!!!! for the third time out of the four runs of FTB! wheehee. i love our cheer too! gambatte sparta! wish i had a video to show u guys=pp i still think we've the got best cheer lor. we look damn cool when doing the cheer la. wahaha.

enough of FTB.

oh and i must mention.. I got my iPod nano!!! it's the red version, and it has my name engraved on it's back!! hahaha. and i've got 20% off=pp thanks to don! our ftb group's uncle agony. and my china-born brother. LOL. for some reason our ftb grp mates thought we were from china, and even said we look like siblings!!=S hahaha. i'll take a photo with him sometime soon! i love my red ipod nano=) and me n nel went over to his house on the evening after ftb to watch 'V for Vendetta' and it was awesome! intriguing plot and great dialogue. woot. and i love don's room!!! ahahahah. seriously 95% my perfect room already. wheehee.

on a more serious note though, i hope i perform well in uni. meaning i must exercise alot alot more discipline. 아자!

Wicked!

yesterday was TJChoir's concert - Wicked! so fun k! as alumni we performed 2 songs, amor io sento l'alma and te quiero.. and we rmbed 'che mai' and tequiero was so nice! haha or maybe i was just feeling hyper yesterday! lolx and one of the VIPs were so @#$%%$&@$!! someone went to the wrong ACS la! lolx okay i'm just being wicked la huh.. heh.. but anw the concert was vvv enjoyable! esp the musical, with miaomiao aka dorothy, delin aka tin man, juntao aka Lion, christopher aka scarecrow, tessa aka wicked witch, sylvia aka good witch, they were all so cute!!! hahah esp miaomiao and juntao lah.. ahhaaha.. and there was this super enthu yr1 junior, dance until so super enthu.. lolx.. and we could tell that they were all really enjoying themselves=)) and yee chuin was so excited can!! ahahah she really injected alot of her time and effort into this i think, and this was probably v contagious.. so everyone was so hyper after the concert!

after the concert quite a few of us were supposed to go for supper BUT somehow ppl just 'disappeared' along the way, leaving just 8 of us for supper. namely me michelle kenneth kuanrei shaowei shisong sam timo. even so, the remaining few of us went along to newton circus! whee quite fun, though there was a slight hesistancy about whether we'd get lost... like we did when getting to acs? lolx=pp kk anw we ordered chicken wings, kangkong with chilli, stingray with chilli, squid with chilli, and fortunately, oluak without chilli. lol so guess what? naturally i ate just the chicken and oluack. and dont think i didn't try. I tried the squid, just one, and voila, my whole face turned red! and so i returned to my happy chicken wings and drumlets. (not mine per se.. but whatever) anw i realised yesterday that our seniors are nice ppl!! hahahaha. guess i miss our year1 period alot la.. and even then didn't really talk much to them then.. either that or ns has changed them.. but whatever.. hope to see them more often after this!! and hopefully there'll be more ppl joining us then lol. whee~~~ yesterday was fun! i'll be going for the next tjchoir concert in july @ esplanade!=)

Meet the Robinsons!

out of my months of mundane life came a slightly more interesting day yesterday. had korean class at eastpt in the morning, my third or fourth lesson i think.. quite fun=D got this pretty funny guy lol, abt secondary sch age i think, but given my terrible judge of age, he cld be twenty too.. lolx.. but anw ya, so it was fun=D

then i got an unexpected free lift to choir alumni at tj!! haha thanks frog! haha, so ya it was time for choir alumni! i've really missed choir manz.. I may nt be a vv gd singer, but i still really enjoy singing tgt, with friends and my seniors.. I've missed them so much!! and our first prac was really not bad, like we did manage to combine within a space of 2 & a half hrs, and it sounded.. not too bad really. granted, my batch wasnt sure of te quiero and the senior batch wasnt sure of amor.. but it sounded pretty cool still=) and te quiero sounds so nice! hopefully more ppl will join and it'll be even nicer! yayy=) oh and we were like commenting tt the guys sounded so 'soldierish' while singing te quiero, though it's supposed to be romantic! lolll. but i hope we'll melt their hearts soon!! hahahaha=pp okok i'm going mad le.

moving on..

after alumni me and mich went to bedok interchange for mr. bean!=D as in, mr. bean the soya bean and not mr. bean the retarded guy. cos carol was only due to meet me at 6pm and i had lots of time to while away. so i recommended the 3-in-1 riceballs!! haha, it's soya beancurd + peanut soup + peanut tang yuan.. yummy!! go try k! haha=)

then i went to meet carol! that toot was !@#%#@%#*&@#$ again! shall not speak of it lest i falter into less becoming phrases. so anw, we went to vivocity!! to revive their business! ahhaah. so nice of us rite. ahhaha. ok ya so we bought the movie tix, and then we went for dinner at the White Dog Cafe! we went high class and tried their Pan-Fried(or seared? i can't remember.) Foie Gras, and their Crispy Duck Confit. Our verdict or pretty much unanimous: the Foie Gras was pretty gd, an average of 8.3/10. the duck, however, got a poorer 6.2/10. but overall, dinner was pretty gd, with a glimpse of some fireworks out the window and conversation b/n two best friends.=D

then we went to catch our movie Meet the Robinsons! though it's a cartoon, it's really enjoyable, v inspirational and poignant. i was pretty surprised acty, i did ever dream of such things.. like travelling in a bubble!! lolx. haha. but the point is, the plot was there and there were things tt would really make you think. so go watch it!

ok yup tt's abt the end of yesterday.. a pretty fun day out of the monotony.. i cant wait for next weekend!=))

oh and i had my second driving lesson today! so fun=)

hi all! I was juz reading this month's CLEO mag and saw this article abt the babyface syndrome! lolx.. about girls who look much younger than they really are. so they 'made-older'(instead of a make-over) those girls.. and i guess i pretty much gotta learn those techniques huh?

was busy all weekend going for the open houses for the three universities, namely ntu smu and nus. somewhat tiring, but nonetheless informative.. at least more informative than the previous times i've gone for such open houses and talks since i'm actually paying attention. hmm.

i'm starting my basic korean class this saturday!!! yay! i'm so looking forward to it=D wheehee=) i shall start speaking in korean soon! wahahaha.

i wanna watch a movie!! anyone wanna go with me?? ahhh.

A-Level Results out!

i'm so glad that results day didn't fall on any day during my US trip! cos i wouldn't have wanted to miss all that getting together, the emotionally charged atmosphere, and all the announcements=) so far everyone i know did at least okay and can get into uni or wherever they wanted to go.. so congrats everyone!! as for myself, with some luck i should be able to get into the course of my choice, so i'm thankful for that=D i really didn't know what to expect for physics and econs, cos they were super dubious la, how to expect anything those papers were like crap?? i'm grateful for these results=)

people i really muz thank.. ryan, my private tutor, without whom i wouldn't have gotten what i did for maths and physics.. and carol, that irritating girl, otherwise i probably wld still have been blur abt all tt econs concepts.. thanks so much!

so, next step, university!

Trip to US!

Hi all!! i haven't been blogging for more than a month!! but now i've changed my template for an all new look!=) hope u like it=p

Here's a long and boring account of how i spent my holiday in the US! namely Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Francisco! For those who just wanna look at me, no worries=) u can juz go here to see the photos we took! Alternatively, u can read my account while seeing my photos, for a running commentary! woots! hahah jkjk.. haf fun ppl!=)

Day 1 & Day 2
Okay the first two days aren't much, mainly flight-time, but anw, I saw my fave perfume Nina Ricci at the Duty-free inside the airport! lol, not that it's much of a surprise, but I guess it's cheaper than usual retail ba. so anyway, I totally chionged as many movies as i could on the plane! =p watched shows like "Employee of the Month", "Gridiron Gang", "Accepted", "Open Season".. All on the way to US! totally movie marathon man=D so shuang=) couldn't sleep la basically, maybe slept like 1hr? during the flight from Japan to LA. So we reached there around 11, but one of the group kena random interview by the US security, so we had to wait nearly 1hr=x But anyway we were still on schedule, so after tt we went to Wyndham Hotel to check-in. By the time we reached it was about 2plus i think, so we quickly checked in, left our stuff in the room, and went out of the hotel to recce the area.

Over here, the buildings are spaced pretty far apart, so pity my poor legs!! Okay, not so bad la, guess i needed the exercise after sitting in the plane for so long. So anw, we went to see the nearby stores like Henry's Supermarket, and went to check out the restaurants. So nice la, we saw the In-n-Out Burger there!=DD So of course I quickly brought my parents there to try the burger=) Mwahaha. Then we went to walk around again, saw a few shops, but nth much la. So around 6plus it was quite dark le, so we went back to near our hotel, to see the restaurants again. Plus i wanted to see whether the internet cafe was cheap (i cant help it!=x). But we couldnt find an appetising enough restaurant, we decided to go to a slightly further place which served Vietnamese food. (my parents missed chinese food already!! on the first day!!!=S) so there was food that was somewhat similiar to chinese food, to make my parents happy enough, and i ate some vietnamese spring rolls (which were abit yucky though=x). after tt we went to henry's supermarket to stock up on some mineral water and fruits. whee i love supermarkets! lol. their cereal isn't bought in boxes but dispenser-style! like press the button and your cereal pours out into your plastic bag. so fun! heh. so yeah, end of first two days=)

Day 3
We're going to Hollywood today! Namely Universal Studios, where they film the movies!! Before that we went to the Walk of Fame, where famous ppl name's are on the floor, and some have their hand and footprints on the concrete! There was the Mann's Chinese Theater as well, which was also where the hand & footprints were. Afterwhich, we went on to Universal Studios! Initially i thought that, eh, juz studios onli ma, got anything to see meh? But seriously, it was vvv nice! Our tour guide, Steven (more on him later), brought us to take the Studio Train Tour around the places where the movies like Fast and the Furious, the Mummy, and Jurassic Park were filmed. We saw the Stages, which are basically gigantic halls whereby they'll build the setting and props for the movies. then we saw various past Stages like a train station, helicopter crash in a city etc. We also saw scenes from War of the Worlds, Jaws.. and saw how they made cars 'fly' in a crash such as in Fast and the Furious. All in all, very interesting, very fun, and sth you must not miss if you ever go there!

One drawback: it was vvv hot there!! In the shade it's pretty cool, but if the sun's shining on you, it's totally scorching hot k!! seriously man. =x=x

Okay, so anw after the train ride, we tried other stuff such as Terminator 2 in 3D (mini introductory show of course), Waterworld Live, Shrek in 4D (the 4th dimension simply refers to the seats moving=p), Jurassic Park rollercoaster, Backdraft Live (where we experienced the heat during a fire, safely of course). Then i ate a Ben & Jerry's icecream cos esp after the Backdraft show i was practically melting le=S

The last show that we went for was FearFactor Live! In my opinion, the pre-show was more enjoyable than the show itself. lol. why? because before the show, this guy went around scaring ppl with a fake tarantula. lolx okay it's not so funny for the victim in question, but heh very amusing for sadists like the rest of us=p and another guy acting as usher, emphasise 'acting', brought a few ppl in, walked them round one section of seats, round and round until everyone else was just tearing with laughter!! hahaha, some of the 'victims' caught on after walking one round, but one group just followed round and round for like more than 3 rounds! totally cried with laughter la! hahah. then the show itself, first was testing who could hang onto a handle in midair for the longest period of time, second was like turning round and round and if you complete the task first u get to eat.. the Fear Factor smoothie! A yummy concoction of rancid fish guts, pig innards (raw of course), complete with sour milk. hmmmm. Last task, was some electric thing which you have to keep turning, but which gets more electricity on it the more you turn it. blah, some guy won it and congrats. fast forward>>after everything, we met up with the rest of the group about 6pm.

Dinner at a Chinese restaurant, den end of the day.

Day 4
Today's another tiring day! But fun=) First we went to Disneyland. We had a 2-Park-Hopper ticket, meaning we could go to Disneyland and California Adventure Park which is juz next to each other. As usual, Steven brought us around first to take the most impt rides. Disneyland's so nice k!! The moment u enter it, it's just like a dream world. I could almost imagine Belle (from Beauty and the Beast) walking out from the shops any moment! We took rides like Pirates of the Carribean, which was really nice. It's not the exciting kind, but the atmosphere is really realistic. We soon came to the conclusion that Disneyland is really not just for kids, but enjoyable for adults as well. The high technology involved is really amazing. In the ride, the sound volume, music, props, and fake people (which were made to look almost real!) made the atmosphere really really cool! Seriously! After this ride we tried many other highlights, one of them being A Bug's Life in 3d. Lol it's super interesting! Like, when one of the bugs gave off a stink bomb, we actually smelt sth! when one of them sneezed, we'd feel water sprinkled onto our faces! and for the finale, we were told to sit and let the 'Honorary Bugs' leave first, we actually felt sth poke us from behind and sth crawling underneath our butt! LOL=D Fun sia=)

Den we went to California Adventure Park! Here were the more exciting rides! First was the not so exciting ones like Soarin' over California, which is really super cool, cos it gives you the illusion that you really are flying over california as if in a flying chair! really super uber cool=D Then the more exciting ones including Hollywood Tower and California Screamin'! Hollywood Tower is like an elevator that you sit in, then they bring you all the way uppppp! then down and down and down like about 3 times. Woots! Fun!!!! At first i was abit scared la, cos acty i dun really like 'vertical' rides cos i'm scared of the weightless feeling, but still, it was funnn!!! Came out shaking a little but still damn exhilarated! wheehee! and we also took California Screamin'! which is a 360deg rollercoaster!! hahaha fun sia!!! at first almost cldnt take cos there was some mechanical fault, but thank gdness it was repaired quickly so whee i took it! fun sia! really really wish i can take it again=x and most imptly, kudos to my dad for taking both with me! lol, sacrificed most of his wits taking it. haahah.

den we got a quick dinner at a snack place cos there were longgg queues everywhere! i got my cheese pretzel and then quickly went to get a spot along the road in Disneyland, where the Parade of Dreams was abt to start! haha acty this parade wasn't much la, juz colourful n all tt, and not alot oso. But of course go there le muz see la=p den after this parade of dreams, we went out for awhile to check out the shops outside. and we saw alot of shops, and even though already 8plus nearing 9, the whole place still super crowded. then finally abt 9, we went back to disneyland around Cinderella's castle, where there'd be fireworks!! so nice k! like totally blew me off (metephorically speaking) lol. The fireworks were really really beautiful and indescribable in words that it deserves. So much better than the short 'boom. boom. boom' of Singapore's fireworks. like, it has shape, style, and a storyline! it integrates disney stories into the show, and a Tinkerbell is even flying around at times! Really really beautiful. After seeing this, it'll be difficult to see a nicer show of firework that tt le. Lolx. Seriously man.=)

So we caught the shuttle bus back to our Wyndham hotel, and poof to sleep.

Day 5
Mwaha! Today is the wonderful day of the start of.. shopping!! Oh, and the last day of the breakfast in Wyndham! lol, it was the same breakfast for the past two days! We went to the Tanger Outlet center that was on the way to Laughlin (a town near las vegas). So on the way to the center, Steven briefed us. Say "Chialat chialat (jialat jialat)" in a gay voice. That's Steven=) No offense though, he's been really gd and we really appreciate it!=D so he advised us to chiong to the shop we wanted most first and we did! nearly everyone chionged to Coach first (incl us) and wheee, seriously take take take sia. my mum and i nearly went mad.. with joy.=) see like onli, take first think later. Oh and dun forget Steven's advice, Buy Now Suffer Later! wahaha! So we bought mostly Coach, then after lunch, we shopped somemore i got a levi's top and another top frm an unknown shop.=) Oh let me elaborate abit on the lunch. It was at America's chinese fast food called Panda Express, and their opinion of chinese food is fried noodle(known as chow mein there, no spelling mistake there) and fried rice! and our sweet & sour pork is known as 'orange chicken'!

ok then on with our journey! we proceeded to Laughlin, a town on the banks of Colorado River. And by the time we reached, it was nearly nighttime, but we decided to look ard of course, since it supposed to be a mini casino city in itself. We walked ard, and I was looking for my Krispy Kreme shop! it's supposed to be a very well-known donut shop in the US. i saw a 'Krispy Kreme' sign along the street while still on the bus so i was pretty sure tt there was the shop there. unfortunately, after checking out 3 diff hotels, we found it in the third one, BUT it was closed for the day=x on the bright side, it would be open at 6am the next day! lolx. since this would be our only night in Laughlin, i didn't want to miss the chance to try their donuts, so i decided to wake up early to go get it! wheehee.

Day 6
So this morning, i woke up at 5am with my dad, and at 5.45am, we chionged 3 hotels away to get my donuts! when we reached there at 6.05, there was already a relatively long queue! wah, queued abt 15mins den finally got to order. so muz make it worthwhile rite? somemore all the way from singapore mah=p so we order half a dozen assorted donuts plus one original glazed donut. then we chionged back to hotel. then chionged down for the hotel breakfast with all our luggage and stuff since we had to leave immediately after breakfast. (not forgetting the donuts to be consumed later, though i sneaked a few bites of the original. mmhmm. heaven. nv knew donuts could taste so nice.)

After breakfast, we made our way to the Grand Canyon! We were so lucky k! When we went there, it was bright and sunny, though v cold, but it was sunny enough for us to take all our pics! Then, when we were done with our photo-taking and ready to get back onto the bus, it started snowing! like really snowing k!! initally it was light snow, but we were already very excited and taking photos like mad! snow totally rocks!!! then when we made our way down the mountain for lunch, it started snowing heavily! wheehee! i love snow!! so after eating lunch (during which we admired the snowfall outside the window and how the window ledge piled up with snow) guess what? we took more pics!! lolx, as i said, we love snow=) i've experienced snow before, even snowfall, but none as heavy as this! It's really beautiful=)

After all the hoohaa of the snow, we went back to the coach the continued on our journey. we had to backtrack to laughlin so that we could go on to las vegas, so by the time we reached Vegas, it was already evening time. However, our check-in time was later, so our tour guide brought us to see various shows around 'The Strip' @ Las Vegas such as the 'Atlantis' which tells the tale of two feuding siblings, and the musical fountain at the Bellagio which was really, for lack of an even better word, beautiful. And last was the Fremont Experience at Downtown Las Vegas which was not bad. It's basically a light show across the entire ceiling of the place, like a gigantic and extremely long plasma tv. lolx.

then when we were nice and tired, we got back to the hotel and.. slept.

Day 7
Okay, another day of GREAT shopping! the best ever!! First we went to visit Hoover Dam & Lake Mead. Well I dun have much to say abt it la, it's.. well.. a dam.. and a lake. Like ya. hahah. So secondly, Steven brought us to the Premium Factory Outlets in Las Vegas! We went alot madder here as compared to the previous Tanger Outlet center! hahaha. Our first stop was Nike! Here was seriously see, like, take. I bought 3 pairs of shoes! wheehee! and i was considering a fourth! kinda regret not getting though. hehhh. plus i also got a dri-fit top and jacket=) My parents got one pair each too=) Bu zhi bu jue, it became lunchtime so we headed to the food court for lunch. Wasn't anything special, so i koped food from my parents and got a White Chocolate Chip Mocha for myself=) yumm. Our tour coach was supposed to pick us at 1.30pm, giving us about 2 hours to shop and lunch, but luckily we were given the option of going back ourselves since we were free the rest of the day. =) so after lunch, more shopping!!

We headed to see other stores, like Liz Claiborne, where me and my mum bought 3 polo tees and a tshirt. then, we went to Armani Exchange where i tried on one of their jeans=) and juz for the sake of the brand name, i got a tee to show off as well! lolx ahhaha. well u cant blame a girl for being materialistic every once in a while=) oh and we went to Fossil!! one of my fave brands=) I got myself two watches there! heeee. I shld've gotten a third!=x kinda regret that too=x lolx. but oh well. and guess what?? by this time, it was already nearing 5pm! lolx. and we still weren't done with shopping. however, we were kinda guilty cos my dad didnt have much to do and he really wanted to bring us to see the hotels cum casinos in Vegas, plus we had a show to catch. so we teared our eyes (and hearts) away frm the place and made our way to the taxi stand.

back in town, our first stop was our hotel rm so tt we could dump our loot=p we had to catch a show called 'Jubilee' tt we bought tix for, so we had to meet Steven at 6.30pm. after grabbing a light bite nearby, we met him, and then took a taxi to the Bally Hotel. (we had to share cab with the most irritating couple. acty it was the husband who was irritating la. ergh, the first time i met him at the pre-departure briefing, he said:"我什么都没有，就是钱很多" walao!!!! crap sia. somemore is depending on his rich wife de, and sit at home do nothing. still can say liddat! plus his wife so rich oso quite humble. irritating guy sia. ergh.)

okay then we finally reached the place and were seated. Basically Jubilee's a topless cabaret show, gotta be 18yrs and above de. I was asked for my passport (as usual la. cant help it if i look young rite? lol. might as well look on the bright side. btw, nearly everyone in my tour group thought i was in lower sec! ahh) the show was pretty nice, and the props were great. of course there's all the boobs and butt lor. lolx, and i was happily munching away at my chips as well. hahah, while my parents nearly dozed off. but it was pretty interesting la (not the boobs and butt fyi) esp this grp of guys who were very funny=D (typing it here simply doesn't do it justice so too bad for ya)

after Jubilee, my family went ard to see the various hotels.. like the Venetian, which is Venice-themed, so it has a river (man-made of course) flowing through the first floor, plus boats u can sit in while the rower serenades you! (u can view my photos to get a clearer idea) We then went to Wynn hotel, the newest & biggest hotel in Las Vegas for dinner. The chinese restaurant there is supposed to be very good as even stars go there to eat. so we went there, and met some of our tour grp ppl, who said they met some hk actor! lol argh too bad we missed it=x but anw, the food was pretty gd so we had a nice dinner=)

by then, my mum and i were totally slpy le, so when my dad suggested going to take a look at more hotels, we nearly died. naturally we didnt go la=p 2 against 1 mah. hee.

Day 8
Woke up early in the morning to catch a 8.25am domestic flight to Oakland, near San Francisco. So we had to be there by 6.25am to clear Security and everything, then we had our breakfast inside Check-in. We ate burritos at some mexican cafe! which was MUCH nicer than the thus far standard fare of eggs, ham and bacon.

Flight was delayed to 9am, so we juz talked among the group.. got this chinese couple from indonesia who's pretty cute=) like, he's cute and she's pretty so they make quite a cute couple=) so envious ah! hahaha, and they were v nice to everyone also la.. plus he's quite well-off i think, aww, what more to ask for?=pp okay i digress, so we got on the plane. mwaha, i was fast, so the moment i saw someone go to the boarding queue, i immediately chionged to queue behind them, cos this system dun haf allocated seats de. muz get gd seats ma, so tt alighting tt time easier. heh=p

we reached Oakland! then we got onto a coach, and as tension within me mounted further.. we approached san fran!! hahaha civilisation as last!! hahaha. let me explain, LA was more country-like, as the buildings were spaced further apart and pace of life there was slower. Las Vegas is in the middle of a desert plus being packed with just casinos doesn't make for much other recreation and activities. Therefore.. civilisation awaited in San Francisco! wheehee. It's a pretty small city, with just 2million+ people, and it's buildings are all pretty packed. Just what i'm used to=)

Steven brought us around San Francisco on an orientation tour. First was to Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, where he gave us 1hr to walk around. I got a Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough icecream for myself! then we walked around the wharf and took a look at some of the shops. then we went for the 'New' Bay Cruise, where they bring us right underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, then back round Alcatraz so we could get a closer look at the island. (mwaha i've been on it!)

after the cruise, Steven then brought us to the Golden Gate Bridge itself, where we could walk on it, see the gift shop and all tt. for me wasn't much la, since it's like basically a bridge right? and seeing it for the second time is like.. okay. so i went to the gift shop(which was closed the last time i went with TJChoir) to press a few pennies to pass time. In case u're wondering what's pressing pennies, it's basically this machine tt u can put in money for it to literally press your penny into a special souvenir, which in this case was a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge.

after that, to our hotel in Civic Center!! We stayed in Holiday Inn, Civic Center, which was not bad, pretty near Union Square, the town area. Steven also gave us an option to join him for a walk to Union Square so that we could orientate, but my family declined=pp cos i wanted to go find my bead shops in that area, and anw i'd been there before=) plus i had my map, so what could go wrong?=)

so i brought my parents to go find my shops, but unluckily, they were both closed!! operating hours were over=( so i led them to Union Square on Market st. instead lor. and i found my previous hotel as well!=DD turned out my previous hotel and my current hotel were pretty close! wheehee=) so once i saw my prev hotel, i became instantly familiar with the area=D I brought my parents into the hotel to take a look at the interior, and where we once rehearsed, where we ate our breakfast, and even where we had our first briefing!=) then i walked us to Union Square, where we then took the Cable Car to Fisherman's Wharf! and i realised it costs US$5.00! (and i took it for free before=pp)

at fisherman's wharf, we had dinner at a restaurant with a few other tour grp members we met on the cable car. it was yummy! We ordered a lobster combination, consisting of a half lobster, half crab, with prawns and shrimp=) plus a lobster bisque, and a clam chowder in sourdough breadbowl! wah liddat hor, enuf for all three of us le k! not juz enuf but quite full k. after dinner we walked off some of the calories, den hopped onto an electric tram back to our hotel.

Day 9
Our last day!!=((((( So muz make full use of it! and I was the tour guide for the day!=D In the morning, I wanted to bring them to Lombard street, and it juz so happened that a few others wanted to go too! so we decided to go tgt taking the cable car, but it suddenly rained! so we decided to take taxi instead! so we experienced driving down k!=) somemore total taxi fare ended up cheaper than a cable car ride for all 3 of us=) quite fun lar, my mum was like so happy over the sakura trees lol.

after seeing lombard street, my family separated from the rest and i brought them to fisherman's wharf for breakfast! we found a cafe called "Denny's" that i've been wanting to try, so we settled on breakfast there. waited quite long, but still worth it=) the pancakes so nice! really warm and fluffy de, nt like normal McDonald's hotcakes haha.

kk back to hotel, where we did our impt 'businesses' and i planned the rest of the day=) we headed to the bead shops i found yesterday, where i spent a vvv long time selecting what i wanted! haha the place i went to was super colourful and staff initially looked like weirdos and kinda scared me but they were actually really nice, and they even keep cats in the place! spent a few hrs there=)

then lunch at Macy's! i brought them to the basement where i introduced to them the Spaghettini, and i ordered my macaroni and cheese! yumm=) unfortunately didn't order the herbed fries, aww.. ahahha=p then my dad lingered in the basement while me and my mum chionged upstairs to shop! haha shop here shop there, but didn't get that much la, wanted to get a dress de, but dun haf sth tt looks nice on me=x so we each got a pair of pants lor.. haha.. i found a black pants with gold deco! hee=D

(ps. time passes so quickly when shopping!!!)

after a while we got tired of macy's, so after getting some of the chocs frm there, we left the place.. and found Victoria's Secret! heeee! (those who dunno abt it.. tsktsk) whee i love the lingerie there!! hehhh. shant elaborate much here, but the place so cool k, the changing rooms even have a button inside to press when u need help! LOL. my dad waited for us for nearly 3hrs!!! *guilty* but we still hadn't gone to the second floor to check it out! but too bad la, too long le, so gotta go lor.=x after tt we went to Levi's=) cos i wanted to find sth that i saw in Singapore, but
they dont have it! but i managed to find a pair of jeans la so not w/o gains=pp

finally we went for dinner, at this restaurant called John's Grill, which is supposed to be quite popular in san fran. we shared two of their most popular meals, which were both totally delish!!=DD ate up every last bit of it!

then we took the electric tram back.. and it was the end of our last day..=x

Day 10 & Day 11
on the flights back to singapore, i didn't chiong as many movies as before, but still managed to catch "Barnyard". oh and we were v lucky! my family managed to get the seats in the front of the section! as in, you know where the large screen tv is? we were in that row at the side! so we got lots of leg space!=D like totally can stretch out de=) wheehee!

hmm.. back in singapore, luckily we touched-down about 1am, so it wouldn't be as hot as in daytime. even so, it was so hot and humid!!=( oh well, will get used to it. i miss US already!!

whee! its 01/01/07! rmb to write "07" le k! esp for those going back to school on 3rd Jan=p okay acty new year isnt much la, just an excuse to play and haf fun! lolx so haf fun we did! me n carol went to vivo yesterday to party! haha.. kind of la.. we met to watch a movie first.. wanted to watch borat but realised its R21!!=x sian rite! so we watched School for Scoundrels, which is like, really juz soso onli.. not v nice or what.. then wt joined us for dinner there too.. after which me n carol went for the countdown party at vivo skypark! wheeheehee!

cty it wasnt fun at all before 10 la, cos our tix were only for the amphitheatre meaning we weren't allowed to stand in the mosh pit. so it was like soooo boring at first la! like, new yr's eve supposed to be high high de ma, den go there n sit, like watching concert liddat, siannn!!! BUT luckily, they found 0.01 milligram of conscience so ard 10 they let us go into the mosh pit! meaning we could go in front and scream n get high! haha.. so funny!

so basically the real party started at 10pm.. and I managed to shake Hady Mirza's hand! not juz touch k, its a complete handshake lor. mwaha. jealous not? lolx. acty nth much la, i'd much MUCH rather touch JJ Lin's finger than shake the entire hand of Hady lol. lalalal. and i still love Daniel Ong! though i think he's better on the radio la, cos last nite he was pretty lame lol.. anw, shan't say much more, let the photos speak!

anw recently visited the two new megastores in tampines! IKEA and Courts! vv fun la:):) but its not for the faint-hearted nor for the bad tempered impatient person lol. its v crowded so u've gotta be calm and juz be optimistic ya? so taking tt into acct, it was vv fun! i still love IKEA's Swedish meatballs! yummm:) but unless u've got plenty of time and patience to spare, don't go to Court's Box Bistro! system is quite screwed though concept is gd enough. queue was damn long and by the time u sit down to eat ur food wld've gone cold. so yup, just go Courts for their mega deals! realli v cheap! got a cheap phone for my room and a all-in-one USB card reader finally=)

haha okie i'm not busy with jobs per se, but i'm rather busy having fun! lol. i'll prob take my job next year jan for abt one month, then another after my overseas trip. (I'm going to US! whee!! i'll blog abt tt another time)

so far been going out almost daily.. going shopping! getting my prom stuff, helping ppl get prom stuff, recceing stuff for my room etcetc.. lolx.. so yar, all in all feeling quite busy.. in a good way! =)

cant wait to finish doing up my room! shall haf a room warming! heeee. anw got 4C chalet this week! frm 30nov to 3dec.. no need to pay thx to fio=D yay so fun!! but i've got SATs this sat and i'm so unprepared pls! quite dead. kinda regret signing up for it..=x lazy study lar.. plus i dun really wanna go into the tj library to study.. bleargh.. lol..

tjchoir concert was last fri and it rox!! love esp all the christmas carols, and O Nata Lux! so christmassy.. mmmm i cant wait for christmas=) then after tt some of us went for supper.. including our seniors timo and shisong! so fun la.. too bad its not more ppl.. totally miss all the seniors k.. but i guess guys in ns and girls in uni so not much time ba.. but i enjoyed the supper alot! laughed alot alot! lolx.. hopefully the tjchoir alumni will be an actual occurrence then i'll be able to meet them more often! haha.. but tt'll prob take a long time la.. since the guys will be gg into ns soon.. ohwell.. i'll wait=) haha..

anw rmb last time i recommended Pandora for listening music? well i found another one! this one's better in a way, cos it offers some chinese music too! its called Last.fm so try it now! Note: I am not a promoter of any of these products! lolx.

IT'S OVER!!!! Like, really really finally finally overrrrr!!! whee!!! The nightmare has finally passed!!!! woot!!! If you still dunno what i'm talking abt, well, the A Levels are finally over! heeee!!

farewell assembly

okie so today was our final final assembly in tj! well it wasnt as emotional as i expected it to be, but still, it was pretty touching to see my schoolmates go up on the stage one by one to thank teachers and friends. these are the people to whom tj meant something to. i'm sure, like i've said before, most of us have complained loud and often about the various restrictions, practices, and even certain people in tj, but ultimately, there are some of us (including me) who have grown to love the school and the people, as most of them have said today. Can any of us really forget the friends we've made throughout these two years? Busy we may have been (well, some ppl at least, lol), but these friends who have been by our side during tutorials, lectures, pdp times and outings.. surely we have forged some measure of friendship with them. For those who will not miss TJ, i do feel some degree of sadness for them.. they would've wasted their time in these two years. Sure, they may get their A's, but personally, I feel that my jc life was enriched mainly due to choir, my classmates, and some of the teachers who have been particularly inspiring and caring.

okay, as u can see, this post in gonna be rather reflective and somewhat emotional, so just a warning here.=)

Choir, especially during my first year, was indeed my main source of recreation especially during busy periods. Rather than complain about the busy schedule of choir, i was thankful for the solace it offered. Truly, a day that ended with choir practice could turn a lousy day into one that bore remembrance. Each choir practice was one that i looked forward to. We were lucky to have such nice seniors who welcomed us warmly into TJChoir.. I'll always rmb them=) It was only when my batch took over that i actually really got to know them - we were so close to the seniors that we actually hardly mingled with one another! but then began the budding friendships within my batch.. within the comm, i made great friends, and though we had some disputes with ms lau, she did call us adorable in the end k! haha=) and within the altos, u guys were great! i wasnt a great sl, but thx to ur support, i pulled thru=) then, the year1s came in this yr.. a great bunch with plenty of potential, and i believe they'll do us proud again nxt syf=) all in all, TJChoir is one i'll never ever forget, and whose concerts, carolling, even cip, and especially the San Francisco trip will be precious memories i'll take away with me as i leave TJ.

and there's 06/05.. i may not have been as close to them as i would have wanted, esp as compared to sec4c, but they have been beside me all through tutorials, lectures and civics.. well they probably wont read this, but anw, to shurong weiwei melissa xiaoshan wendy jiayi, uall were great friends! muz totally keep in touch kk!! to the rest of 06/05, i may not have been extremely close to u, but i think each one of u (yes, really! everyone k!) have contributed much to the class. seriously, i'll miss all my classmates, and the times we've spent sabo-ing cedrick=p, talking abt a certain Mr Cold=), and eating tgt in the canteen..

my 'morning' group will of course be one i'll miss and think back fondly upon.. the spot nxt to the student lounge where we gather daily.. zoe danny yuxuan jojo.. we've not only had shared memories in choir, but also during the numerous lunches, the few kbox trips, and all the other outings we've had.. this very special bunch of people were funny, caring, and altogether made my life in tj so much more interesting. I'll miss the daily morning meetups, the weekly wednesday lunches and of course, just these people themselves.

well, perhaps i'll also dedicate a short paragraph to my maths c class.. though we hardly know each other, it was truly a memorable day when it was maths tutorial and we were all studying at scope. hmm. lol=P

to a special person.. its been impossible to forget, and those fond memories will be cherished..

tj has given me so many things to cherish and remember.. how can i not thank her for these gifts? i love my friends. i love its teachers (well, at least some of them). i love TJChoir. truly, i love tj.

well.. though it was the 'final assembly' today, at least its not the last time we'll see each other.. there's still the A's, grad nite, and of course, collection of 'A' level results. nevertheless, today's so-called farewell concert somehow gave finality to the fact that i will not attend lessons anymore in tj very very soon.

okay haah i went to vivo today! i know i know.. its exam period and i'm supposed to be studying!! yeah i know.. i'm feeling guilty too k, so dun rub it in=x well i had an excuse, we celebrated my dad's b'dae in advance! haha.. since he's going overseas nxt wk ma.. so yea.. lolx.. okay so vivocity is BIG! its not totally done yet.. so still looks pretty raw.. but it's grand opening is on 1st dec! i'm so going there man! maybe not on opening day.. but sometime soon after=DD n i took some photos for fun=D

i must study! damn i'm such a slacker. gotta slap myself manz. oh well.

okay anw i was at national library making myself study today, then i went to bugis to get lunch and i saw some realli cute stuff! (Warning: strong hint ahead=p) i was just walking ard looking for a nice n cheap strap to attach to my hp pouch, then i went into Gift-A-Name and i saw a bunch of fur balls!! hahaha, okay they're not really furballs but they're actually called Rainbow Pompoms or sth.. haha.. vv cute! n soft! so nice to touch=)) heee=) then i walked ard somemore.. and i went to Action City, and i saw a Mini Water Dispenser! haha.. here's a pic:

hmm.. time flies isn't it? okay tt's v cliche.. time is like the hummingbird then.. okay tt doesnt make much sense.. but.. u get the point=) well.. there's only one day left of actual school, discounting the farewell assembly.. which really makes me think alot.. i love tj. i really do. i guess i knew tt b4, though i always had some complaint here n there.. but over the past two years, i've grown pretty attached to it.. and i can hardly believe there's only one day left.. just one day left for me to appreciate normal life in tj.. well, i swear i'll finally pay attention in whichever lesson i go on mon! i really will! and i will not almost fall asleep. i will listen to the lecturer without daydreaming. i'll even take down notes(if any)! well, i'll try my best not to daydream ba, u know, old habits die hard.=x

i just discovered this website www.pandora.com tts sth like a personal radio station. first u create a station (for best results go create an account, its v fast=D), then u tell them at least one song/artist that you like, then they'll play other songs that they think you'll like. on the way, if u particularly like/hate a song, just indicate so, and they'll customise the 'radio station' accordingly. and even me being so fussy, so far i really like the songs they've played!=)) they even have abit of chanticleer and il divo! and obviously most of the pop songs as well=) the only drawback is that it doesnt have chinese songs, but well, i can deal with that=)) (my favourite songs in Pandora is listed in my 'links' section, go see!=P) and if you're interested in the songs i listen to, u can go to [Holiday]! -this is the station i created for myself, with songs tt are kind of lighthearted, sometimes romantic, abit christmassy sometimes.. well, u gotta listen to really know la=) this is my fave station as of now, but i've also created a rock station at [RockOn!] =)

haha we celebrated tcher's day during second break yesterday! quite fun sia, invited our tutors to the canteen, where we had reserved 5 tables for our own use! hee.. and we also had a 1.5kg cake which was yummy~! so we gave them their cards, and let mrs leong cut the cake! hmz.. then we took pics!

rest of the day was pretty fun too, cos after tt break was physics! n since mr koh aka mr cold was there le, of course we took the initiative to extend our break=)) haha.. then after physics was actually maths tutorial, but i ponned la lol, and since the fm ppl had their lesson postponed too.. guess what we did! take photos! hahah.. so fun la, took alot alot of pics v funny de.. esp cedrick lol.. damn crappy.. hahaha.. have a peek..=)

3 weeks to prelims lo. Hmm tts fast sia. Nxt week will be last week of school le. so fast sia, soon we wont have so-called 'fixed' lessons le, uni will be such a different experience! lalala.. but anw, been really trying to studying la, but interestingly, i dont feel overly stressed. stressed, yes, but not too much. somehow, i've been abnormally happy lol but i suppose that isnt a bad thing. We've all gotta learn how to move on. been studying in the national library regularly, n i think it's really the best place for me=) hee feel quite happy there, considering its my study place.. maybe its due to the 'happiness' radiating from bugis (equivalent to shopping n having fun=D) so ya, gonna continue gg there!=D

anw, i love my frens and am infinitely content. =)) with the major aspects of my life. whee~

but national day was fun!! went out with carol=) she wore red polo tee, n i wore white! hahaha then i wore red accessories, n she wore white=DD heeeee. then at first we wanted to go haagen daz for their chocolate fondue cos it's supposed to be v niceee, BUT we went to the one in front of the hilton hotel n its like so coffee shop la! lol its juz a fan blowing at the tables n its like only abt 4 tables pls. diaooo. so we took cab(!!! lol) to cineleisure and watched the Lake House! (before that we took neoprints, might post it nxt time=p) lake house rocks la, keanu reeves n sandra bullock okay! so niceeee=))))) my fave actors of all time man! =D hahaah.. n its like super sweet la, man, super duper sweet! wheeheee`` then we ate at maestro bistro at cineleisure, tried the choc fondue there! haha, quite fun la, we ordered the fondue for 4 cos its more worth it lol hahaha, PLUS a pasta, i swear the waiter was so laughing at us k! lolx, but it wasnt that much la seriously, cos anw it was kinda our dinner ma, whereas other ppl prob eat it for a light dinner onli, but in any case it was highly fattening! but still nice hee=))

on e heavier side, jcts are coming!!!!! isnt tt like such a disaster? i just finished tuition which successfully brought me down to a new low this hols what with whatever stuff tts been on my mind.. seriously this is so not one of my happier times. at least my maths is roughly on track. physics is a completely different matter altogether. my tutor just wrecked whatever illusional concepts i had n poked holes in whatever i thought was correct. just goes to show how much i understood it huh. plus i have 5 topics to cover in a week, and tts not even including those previous topics i've gotta cover cos i still dun get them. how perfectly wonderful. as for econs.. lets juz say i havent got much hope. reminder: it was worse than my fmaths last yr, and thats realli as low as it go n i have an extremely high chance of maintaining that position.

then we went to far east to look for carols skirt! waha, thanks to me, the first shop that i pulled her was where we found the skirt! wheehee=D so proud of myself lar. hahaah.. so fast forward abit, den i found her a pair of earrings too! at bugis=D hee y am i so pro?? hahaha.. so basically at bugis we went to do manicure! woot~ haha..

then we went to meet kent n wt for our National Youth Challenge entrepreneurship programme.. haha.. they were v impressed wif us lar can=D hahaha.. esp carol crapped like damn interesting la.. =PpP

after tt, we went for dinner!!!!! damn nice place.. as of now my favourite place for dinner!!! the Ma Maison restaurant, at the Edge.. super duper nice! hahaha.. =D thank me carol! =D

then we watch She's the Man! this movie vvvvvvv nice!!!! got chance go watch!

after tt, was already 11plus, then we took taxi (sponsored by my mum=D) to my house, where i celebrated wif a yummy-licious tiramisu cake!!! super high quality de, dun tell u where its frm=pp wanna know come ask me personally=pp its like soaked in the coffee liqueur la.. yummm! then i gave her the present, da chang jin style! hee, i wrapped it in scarfs like the way the koreans did it in da chang jin.. waha~~!!

oh help. i'm such a slacker. can someone slap me a million times n shout 'jct is coming!!' n in.. what? 3 weeks?? how could that possibly be enough for one who cannot sit down for over 15mins just to study? bah. first i sit down for like 10min, den e lure of e computer.. u know what happens next. and the next time i garner e determination to get back to my notes, maybe 15min later the same thing happens.

i must study! e next best solution: go out n study. okay so i'm gg out to study tml.. hopefully i do study. if not.. i dunno.

everyone says ppl gain more stamina to study as they grow older. seriously, that so does not apply to me. my peak was probably in primary school. i seem to have gained nth frm being a student for 12yrs (excluding kindergarten) except learning to escape the tutors attention when u havent done ur tutorials, pretending to pay attention when u're actually thinking of stuff that are of complete irrelevance to whats on the board.

sian. i hate myself now. but i love myself too.. lol.. whatever.

yayyy i cant wait for choir chalet tml!!!! so fun! ahha=))

anw we juz handed over to the brand new choir comm on friday! it was with such mixed feelings manz.. firstly felt sad (duh) cos it meant choir had ended n i technically had to leave tjchoir le=x then, i was partly relieved, cos i had after survived a yr of choir cum studies! no doubt not very well.. but passable=) i'll really miss choir n all my altos n my frens with whom we went through so many tough times.. all e long practices.. e 'crazy for you' choreo grp=), where we had to practice under a void deck!.. altos! each one of u has contributed to e alto spirit, i will miss uall so so much!! n ms tham, she'll always be my source of inspiration.. realli realli respect n admire her.. for all her achievements n brilliance.. the way she thinks n does things.. i realli wanna continue learning from her.. all in all, tjchoir has made a big difference in my life, and i'll always always rmb it. =)

hmz choir's coming to an end soon.. i'll miss it alot alot.. all e times tgt.. esp e sf trip=) it was completely unforgettable.. e ppl, e songs we sang, e music we created, e joy we felt when singing.. i'm glad i joined choir in sec1 n continued up till now.. i wonder what my life would have been without it.. i could have been in some ulu club & society.. i wouldnt have met e ppl i know now.. n i wouldnt have learnt as much.. some are already thinking of joining external choirs eg SYC and e like.. i dunno abt me though.. blablabla~~~~

anw, tml's officially e start of sports carnival~ hmm i cant say i'm particularly happy abt it.. sports isnt exactly sth i enjoy.. but whats gd is theres no lessons! so tml basically theres just two more lectures n it'll be (informally) the end of the school term! however what i particularly dread tml is e 2.4km run of course.. i seriously wish i dun have to go.. =x=x=x argh.. anyone who knows me shld know that i particularly hate running n wld choose practically anything over having to run. bah.. perhaps tts y i'm so fat.. =x=x nvm there're other ways to exercise at least..

okay this'll probably one of e happiest posts possible! =DD i'll try to give as detailed a recount as i possibly can, but well, me being my forgetful self, i'll prob haf forgotten quite a few things already=x so anw, here's about our wonderful san francisco trip! ps: thx to my dearest honeystar whose presence made it even more fun! love u lots n lots n lots! muacks=) ps.2: the following is gg to be realli realli long, so take ur time to read it=p

Day 1
met at 11am singapore time at e airport, whilst everyone in school was studying! lolx=p said e goodbyes, mine as well as his parents=) n we took a group photo with e choir banner! then we checked in, n slacked ard abit, n some ppl got sth to eat..

okay then i must admit was not one of e better days in e trip, cos we first had to take a 4 hr trip to taipei, n then transfer to sf from there. e 4hr trip was still bearable, though we were already beginning to get cramps here n there. apparently we all thought e trip to sf would take abt 20 hrs, but we were quite wrong, n it was 'only' 10hrs. even so, it was realli torture enuf.. i was super tired but somehow juz cldnt get to slp.. anw, these 10hrs passed by vv slowly cos i was constantly trying to slp but juz cldnt la.. n e meals were soso i guess, cant expect much frm airplane food.. some of e chicken was nice enuf.. but tts abt it.. e breakfast scrambled eggs were juz powdered eggs i think, took quite a lot of getting used to.. lol..

so anw fast forward to when we reach sf!! haha rocks manz!! e feeling tt u're out of singapore, out of school, no studying, and generally e feeling tt u can do juz abt anything u want le!=)) so we got our luggage n went to wait for our coach to e hotel. phew, e feeling when we went out juz b4 boarding e coach.. we felt e cool wind blowing on our faces! whee super nice k!! super duper happy=) anw we got onto e coach, n tts when i found tt my hp was still not getting a network. so i borrowed yx's hp to msg my mum tt i'm safe, n later my mum found tt my plan didnt incl auto roaming so had to activate, so for e rest of e days i cld use my hp=)

then we reached e Ramada Plaza Hotel ard 4plus, n we had to assemble at e Ghirardelli Room (its juz a room in e hotel) by 5 for a rehearsal. (btw, time diff in sf is 16hrs behind s'pore.) after tt, we went opposite our hotel for dinner.. me, yuxuan, zoe, danny, daniel, michelle n joseph went walking ard abit to explore e area.. n jojo bought his dinner frm Carl's Jr. soon there wasnt much time left, n e rest of us went to Burger King opp our hotel to eat. but seriously, e BK in US rocks k!! i ate e big fish burger meal n they realli meant what they said! its like almost twice e size of singapore's burger n their fries seriously rock manz! its crisp, n not too salty! i dare say its even better than our mac's fries!

evening time, e select choir ppl, which comprised me, yuxuan, zoe, danny, mich, daniel, jojo n audrey (which apparently was almost all of us who ate dinner tgt lol) had a rehearsal in e ghirardelli rm for e three songs: the Awakening, a medley of 3 jap songs (of which we juz sang two in e end), and Wana Baraka (a kenyan song). though we didnt realise it when we went thru it initially in singapore, when e conductors (who were also our judges) went thru e songs, all of them were seriously vvv nice!! haha.. n ppl frm other choirs sang like super well, so many ppl wif vibrato n what-not de.. lol.. scared us a little since they were to be our competitors.. lolx..

at nite, we were all damn tired le, so mostly juz unpacked some stuff.. i shared e bed wif zoe tt nite.. n slept early for our competition e nxt day..!

Day 2
we were a little late for our breakfast at e Whitcomb Ballroom (juz a ballrm in e hotel), but well=x breakfast was pretty nice, scrambled eggs, super crispy bacon, pastries, cereal, oats.. lol daniel actually thought e oats n raw sugar was porridge n pork floss!! lol we all got a gd laugh out of it, incl ms tham n ms lau who was sitting wif us (no offence to daniel!=p) breakfast was fun.. lol as usual danny n yuxuan were entertaining us=p

den after breakfast, we thought we'd be practising our songs, but apparently there was no room le, so we went sight-seeing lol.. saw the grand city hall, then walked ard looking at e streets n e colourful buildings.. lolx.. n went to a nice park n took pics=) den had to go back le, so went opp our hotel to grab a quick lunch at BK again.. lolx=)

after lunch, we then gathered at the lobby to go to the Mission Basilica for our soundcheck rehearsal. it was super windy there, esp since we had to stand outside n wait.. so we played this game tt ms tham came up wif, which went sth like this: we stand in a circle, then ms tham claps 5 times in rhythm, then e nxt person must also clap 5 times in e same rhythm, n it goes all ard e circle, such that it sounds like 5 counts in a bar liddat.. until it reaches ms tham, then she changes it to 4 beat, then e same thing, goes round e circle, then 3 beats.. n so on. n seriously, i was so malu-ated! lolx, my rhythm isnt one of e best liaoz, plus nervous, plus cold, lol esp my 5 counts de was like quite out of e rhythm la! =x=x den so malu can=x lolx.. den anw soon we cld go in le, but e interior was onli slightly warmer than e outside, after all since there wasnt much wind inside la.. but it was still cold k! den we started to practise.. ran thru all e songs.. but it was realli v crappy, n all of us ended up realli stressed up after e practice. esp for e last part of karimantanu.. all e clapping still wasnt tt much in place. i myself wasnt stable so i was realli stressed up la.. somehow juz cldnt do it all tgt properly.. was feeling quite toot lar.. well, anw went back to e hotel, rested awhile n got e altos to change into their gowns n we practised karimantanu last part for a while in my rm. sort of got it fixed la.. den released them, n did e rest of the preparation for e competition.. makeup n stuff.. didnt haf dinner lar.. nt much appetite.. so yar, juz got mentally prepared n all tt..

e bus came to go to e basilica.. n seriously! it was even colder in e nighttime.. by this time, it was abt 7.. then after putting our stuff in jonathan's bag which was looked after by ms lau, we went out into e cold(!!!) n took off our jackets (our only protection from e cold!!!! esp for e girls=x) n it was realli damn cold lar.. lolx.. girls were juz wearing a gown!! at least e guys had e whole suit la.. lolx.. so we ran (at any rate as fast as i could) to the warmup hall. ms tham brought us thru a series of stretches to warmup n body, n thank gdness after tt our bodies were v much warmed up n we didnt feel as cold anymore.. den e canyon high sch ppl were laughing at our stretching la dotz-_-''' n look at what they got. hmpf.

anw when we were finally waiting outside e hall, we were damn excited la.. haha.. den finally! e performance itself=) damn cool=) haha.. well it was both cool n literally cool la.. lol.. but anw it was much better than our afternoon practice n it was obvious tt we all enjoyed performing=) whee n after amor we were damn happy la, cos we successfully pulled off e 'chemai' part=pp hee.. n after karimantanu e back row ppl were like standing ovation for us=DD haha rocksss can! our performance totally rocked la=D haha.. den we got back to our seats, people were like turning back n saying 'That was a MARvellous performance!' heh=) muz imagine in e american accent de.. haha.. den we juz say like thank you thank you.. haha.. same thing went for when we went to e toilet in e middle of e concert.. haha.. some ppl saw us n were like praising us in e similar way=D e rest of e schs kind of neglible la.. onli Tawa College (i'm not too sure of e name) was realli gd! haha.. they were strong n were realli blended.. all of us were realli like 'wahh' la.. haha.. oh n he let me wear his jacket during e competition concert even though it was realli cold la, so sweet! =))

den we went back to e hotel.. n gathered at e lobby for debrief.. lolx we were all damn happy lar, lol.. we were all pretty high by now=) haha.. n we got even higher when e judges came out from their discussion n came to us n Donald Kendrick said 'CongratuLAtions! That was a MARvellous performance! I met Ko (which was e composer) last yr n attended his masterclass.. n that was a really.. phew! performance!' okay tt might not haf been entirely accurate, but it was realli sth liddat.. =)) so we were in even higher spirits=) haha..

den when we went opp bk to get some dinner, some ppl were like, did u perform just now? when we said yes, they were like oh that was a FABulous performance! CongratuLAtions! hahah.. n of cos=) we were even happier=p n when we went back to e hotel lobby, while waiting for e lift, some guy frm another choir was like that was a FABulous performance! really fanTASTic! e choir before u was *ahem* pretty out of tune, then when u performed, it was like phew! realli WONderful! haha.. sth liddat la.. den we happy happy went back to e hotel rm lor.. haha..

tt nite went to bed pretty early.. most ppl were pretty tired le since it was a pretty long day.. but i cldnt realli get to slp la.. was realli vv tired, but somehow juz cldnt slp!! dunno y la.. but ya.. lolx.. so didnt get much slp.. haha..

Day 3
today was quite a zombie day la.. lolx.. due to e lack of slp.. lol.. after breakfast was select choir rehearsal.. during which i kind of stoned n sang at e same time.. lol.. n immediately after tt was 2 masterclasses by Dr. Stephen Kingsbury n Anna Hamre respectively.. realli tried to concentrate=x but it was also during e masterclass when we caught this phrase 'MY PIsaI give unto YOU' lol.. 'pisai'.. it was supposed to be 'my peace i give unto you' but onli we knew what 'pisai' meant la..lol so felt quite bad when we tried to suppress our laughter la.. lolx.. cos he didnt understand n ya=x then anw i felt pretty glad when e masterclass was over la.. was realli dying liaoz.. mind pretty much cldnt focus.. n spent all e energy trying my best to do so during e masterclasses la..

then e rest had lunch while me yx zoe danny went back to our rms to get slp.. lol.. damn tired la..

after e gd nap, i felt v much refreshed le, wasnt as zombie-ish le=) but yx apparently didnt slp as well=x den anw we had to go to e basilica for a Q&A session with the Grammy-award winning choir Chanticleer! they seriously rock k! unfortunately they didnt sing yet; their performance wld be in e evening during e awards ceremony=) then after e Q&A, e select choir stayed back to rehearse=x nt tt it was boring, it's actually nice to sing tgt, but its hard to enjoy for so long if u missed an entire night's sleep=x lol..

then while e rest went for dinner.. me yx jojo stayed in e warmup hall.. where jojo got a nap.. n yx tried to slp.. lol=) love u lots btw=)) den anw the others came back pretty wet cos it rained.. zoe n danny brought back some fries for us la, haha.. muz give abit of credit.. lolx.. anw we werent too hungry esp yx cos he was stuffed to e max for e breakfast=x

den soon was time for our performance.. quite luan lar.. wont say much abt it.. den there was a few other performances.. stephen kingsbury's choir was pretty gd lar, but den i think their consonants realli abit too much la lol..

then was time for results!!!!!! haha.. was soooo nervous k! it was in alphabetical order la.. den 3 of 4 Canyon High School choirs got silver, e last one got bronze.. den was a series of silver la.. den Tawa got gold(duh!).. den........ Temasek Junior College.. GOLD!! heeee.. hahaha.. rocks can!!! We were all like screaming like crazy mad ppl, n cos we were sitting wif select choir ppl, den those frm other choirs were like congratulating us=DD hahaha..

then e nxt most impt thing is Chanticleer's performance!! they like totally rock la! each one a soloist, yet totally blended.. even ms tham says they're fantastic k! they got like 3 standing ovations!!!( or was it more i cant realli rmb) esp e bird song was damn cute la! they're like acting+singing out their music.. its quite indescribable la.. they're realli damn pro.. so after e thing, we all rushed to buy their cds! haha.. ms lau bought 3 for e choir.. den me n yx bought 3 more tt she didnt buy=) lolx..

then was back to e bus to e hotel. haha cos we usually share bus wif Tawa de, which is like so qiao can=) cos both of us are quite small ma, so will share bus lor.. n both of us travel far far to take part in this comp de, n of cos, both of us got GOLD=DD hahah.. then we were like so high, n cheering for each other during e journey back=) haha..

back in e hotel, we gathered in the lobby again.. where ms tham read to us our results n e comments. hahahaha.. rocks k! stephen kingsbury gave us 86/100, n e other two gave us 92/100=)) haha.. n donald kendrick used like 5 'Bravo!'s in the comments sheet la.. hahaha.. damn happi lar, n e moment we entered e lobby, e ppl upstairs were also like Congratulations! hahah..=)

at nite we played cards abit in daniel's room.. i didnt play much lar.. cos v tired le lolx.. den went to slp lor=) slept considerably more=)

Day 4
(phew finally i'm writing day 4, fingers quite tired le=x)
okay today is our first real day of sightseeing! first we went to Golden Gate bridge, one of e most well-known tourist attractions in SF.. actually it wasnt much lar.. lolx.. juz a bridge lor, quite noisy somemore, all e cars passing.. haha.. okay it was nt bad lar, took quite alot of pics there.. took one wif e whole choir plus banner de=)

then we went on to go to Lombard Street, e most crooked street in e world.. firstly, before tt, we had to climb like damnnnn high!!! e slope was super steep la.. n i was dying le, if not for him=p den anw when we got to e top took a few more pics, n me yx regina miaomiao n daniel were kind of lagging behind le.. den we somemore took a few more of e crooked winding down street as we walked down.. so in e end, we totally lagged out - meaning we lost e group. lolx.. so we called ms lau, n she said from lombard street, turn left n go all e way down. so tts what we did. n guess what? when we called again when we felt tt things werent rite cos we didnt see a museum anywhere (which was where they went), apparently we went wrongly.. it wasnt all e way down, it was juz a bit down then turn right. lolx, so we had to climb up again!!! n we'll all nv forget reclimbing tt leavensworth street! like, ahhh! was damn sick of e slope le lar.. lolx.. so anw e few of us missed e musuem la, according to e rest it was quite nice la, but e few of us werent tt interested in musuem's la, anw they took pics, so it was okay la=D

soon we went to union street for shopping!!!=DD haha.. rocks la, haha.. first went to Macy's for lunch! lolx.. yx bought spaghettini AND bbq chicken wif fries, n i got macaroni n cheese=) haha.. it was crazy la.. totally cldnt finish can.. cos danny oso bought e fries n chicken, den in e end we had lots of fries left over la=x k den we left e place to shop! walked abit.. came to Cody's bookstore.. it was super big de.. lol.. but didnt realli see much lar.. wasnt tt interested in buying books.. lol.. den we went to a CD store.. again v big de.. walked ard, n yx managed to get a pair of earphones=) den went opp to Ross's Dress for Less (if i rmb correctly) but didnt look much there la.. cos cheryl, kiki n grace came over n were like 'Old Navy has a lot of stuff!!' so me n zoe immediately rushed over there n see what we cld get=) yx n daniel were there first cos they left us at Ross to find a toilet.. lol=p den me n zoe went to look at second level, n saw some guy's stuff.. so we both bought sth=)) i chose a v nice tee for him k=)) muacks=) den still had some time left so we looked for some nice stuff for ourselves, like shoes n slippers n i bought one tee for myself as well!

den it was time to go back le, actually we were allowed to shop abit more la.. but e guys were tired le, n mainly bored frm nt doing anything la.. lol.. so some of us, namely me yx danny zoe jojo daniel yaoguang slowly walked back to e hotel.. on e way stopped by at a supermkt.. den went back le..

at e hotel rm rested abit lor.. was wif yx=)) den after some time, was time to get ready for e nite's Dinner & Dance le.. which was part of e whole Choral Festival de.. i wore my black n white skirt.. n a pink tshirt.. nt exactly tt formal la.. but i survived la lol.. yee chuin wore a dress tt she bought tt afternoon, damn nice lar! plus she forever so slim de! look nice in anything=) haha.. dinner was soso.. mainly e dessert was nice la i guess.. i didnt even realli try it.. lol.. then was e dance.. as usual, we being S'poreans werent used to this kinda stuff.. so me n yx stayed at e side to watch for awhile den after tt i go wif him to e internet cafe for awhile, den we met up wif some others to check out e Swan Lake performance for e following day, but unfortunately e place was closed le..

we went to daniel's rm n played cards for awhile again.. got tired.. n night ended soon after=)

Day 5
this few days went by super quickly! esp frm day 4 onwards, time went past like damn fast..=x

okay anw today we went to fisherman's wharf! rocks manz.. took bus (actually it's known as e tram, namely, e F tram.. lol.. courtesy of yx=p) to pier 39.. den we were free to walk ard e place.. unfortunately my camera spoilt la=x so in e end decided to juz kope pics frm other ppl lor.. lolx..

kind of lost e rest la.. so me n yx walked ard abit.. den we went to GAP to shop.. n i managed to get an orange jacket there!=)) n i tried to find some jeans la but cldnt find oso.. lol.. den anw left tt place n walked somemore.. walked on n we met michelle, walked somemore.. den came to this small shop, n i got a pink furry trench coat which i wore immediately!=)) or rather, is yx buy for me de=D hee.. its v nice lar!! love it alot alot.. onli prob is cant wear in S'pore, but love it anw=))

den we continued walking n called e rest to see where they were.. n went to In N' Out to eat n meet e rest(ie daniel jojo yaoguang, cos danny n zoe were MIA as usual), which was recommended strongly by ms tham.. haha.. n it was realli vv nice!! haha.. me n yx shared a double burger meal.. which totally rocked.. e burger was nice n juicy, unlike e dry burgers we haf in singapore.. lol.. then cos yx wanted to use e toilet, we went nxt door to hooters.. lol.. where e girls wear super short shorts.. so i sat down n took care of e stuff while he went to e toilet, den while waiting one of e girls came to me n was like 'hii, i'm jessica' in tt flirty seductive kind of way lol.. n 'can i help u?' blabla la.. den i juz say i waiting for a fren lor.. den yx came le, i wanted to quickly siam.. but too slow le.. she came back.. den repeated e procedure.. so yx juz bought e cheapest thing on e menu - curly fries. lolx.. so when we left e place, we had leftover fries frm In n' Out as well as hooters.. lol.. den he pei me quickly see a super big accessories shop.. but in e end nv get anything frm there la, cos it was quite ex.. den we went to buy clam chowder n some shrimps/prawns..

den as we were walking back to e meeting place (cos it was near meeting time le) we realised we didnt have e GAP bag wif us! so we narrowed down e place to hooters, n ran all e way back there, appeared looking super flustered n crappy, but managed to find e bag=) haha.. quite funny lar.. hahah.. den ran all e way back, carrying lots of plastic bags, all our fries, e bowl of clam chowder, n e bowl of shrimps! hahahaha.. think we might haf looked quite a bit of a joke running thru e tourist place wif all our stuff.. ahahah.. but it was quite fun lah hee=)) den it was like yx carried e bowl of prawns all e way to hooters de lar, n it survived all e way to e meeting point de leh! den.. climax was.. 'hi danny!' den promptly dropped all e prawns on e floor. lol. =pp super funny la.. ahhah..=DD

den we met up, den we took a ferry to alcatraz! its an island v near pier 39, so e ferry ride was quite short=x n it's super windy there la.. anw last time alcatraz was a prison island.. so tt (technically) prisoners cant escape.. we went up to e cells themselves, n each person had a set of headphones n a 'player' wif a commentary which we cld play n pause tt brought us thru e place.. it was a pretty gd tour la.. den at e end there was this confinement cell, which was super scary.. lol.. once u're locked in, den it realli pitch dark.. damn scary la, me n yx tried it la.. of cos wif him nt so scary la=p but den imagine u're alone n u're trapped there for days=x=x

den after e tour we went out, n siao it was super windy n cold k!! my teeth were like chattering n shivering liaoz.. lol.. somemore ms lau went to see some historic gardens.. lol.. den e rest of us went back to e deck.. n me n him were like sitting on e bench there, quite nice=)) then we went back on e ferry, which was v nice.. both of us sat along e side where there was less ppl.. n was v nice la.. haha.. got alot n seagulls de.. den he was like trying to take pic of e seagulls haha..

den back at pier 39, we went to hard rock cafe! me n yx shared a pulled pork burger.. which was actually quite nice, but after awhile cld get abit sick of it la.. den while waiting for e others to finish.. both of us juz kinda fell asleep, n were slightly annoyed when e others finished n woke us up.. haha.. it was realli quite a nice slp k.. lolx.. den anw took a bus back to e hotel, while some of them alighted at Union Street to shop somemore.. haha.. i wanted to shop la, but at e same time was tired oso, so went back to hotel rm le.. rested awhile.. den me n yx went down supposedly to get subway n seesee a discount shop nearby, but unfortunately both were closed le=x by this time it was ard 7plus or 8plus le i think.. den both of us wasnt tt hungry lar, so we juz bought some snacks frm Starbucks back to e hotel rm..

so as usual, went to daniel's rm again. played cards then slept..

Day 6/7/8
this is our last day in SF!!!!!!! so fast rite!! =x=x=x anw for breakfast, most ppl didnt want to haf breakfast in e hotel le.. lol.. incl me n yx.. but we still gave them some face lar.. haha.. ms lau was there earliest, followed by me n yx, n we pei her awhile lor.. n got sth to eat.. haha.. den we wanted to go subway to eat de.. but it wasnt open yet!=x so too bad la.. did our final round of packing.. den met up downstairs..

went to a conservatory.. n this place was v beautiful! took pics at a place wif sakura-like flowers.. vvv nice.. both of us took my favourite pic here! n yx got to practise his photography skills too.. haha.. =)

went to a flower conservatory, which realli had lots n lots of vvv colourful flowers.. took lots of photos here.. haha.. had lots of fun too=) yx was like so cute=D haha..=P

den walked abit more, to e Japanese tea garden.. where can tell tt americans cant tell v much diff b/n japanese n chinese.. lol.. anw it was nice lar.. there was this super curved bridge, tt u haf to climb like a ladder liddat.. lol.. then me n yx walked ard abit.. e place was quite peaceful n nice la.. ya.. den we came to a souvenir shop, n there was a machine where u cld insert one 1-cent coin n two quarters, n it'll squash e 1cent coin n press it into a small souvenir wif 'Japanese Tea Garden' n abit of decoration on it=) haha.. made two wif e coins tt i had left.. haha..

then we visited e tea house, which actually sold chinese tea la..haha.. lame sia.. which came with a plate of crackers, incl fortune cookies.. lol.. which is acty chinese too.. anw ours was e same=) got abit sick of e tea after awhile though.. haha..

then e choir had lunch at a cafe ard there.. n i ate chicken tenders, while yx had Pasta n Pesto, haha.. mine was nicer=)) his was alright la, abit tasteless though.. lolx..=pp

den we finally took bus back to Union Street, where we were supposed to queue for a cable car ride! haha.. acty e cable car isnt like tt kind in S'pore, its jus sth like a bus wif cables on top.. lolx.. den at first some ppl were kind of arguing say dun wan take cable car cos its quite ex.. den in e end say wanna take la.. den me n yx went up le lor.. den apparently not enuf places le.. haha.. so we juz waved gdbye to e rest first lor=D haha.. n ms lau juz say wait at e end=) so we happily took e cable car, juz both of us=)) hee.. vv fun sia.. n we somehow escaped buying e ticket! heeee.. we're always so heng can!=p cos e conductor was like making us go to e other end of e cable car, where he had already collected e money.. so yea, we escaped e paying=) lolx.. den we wait, n wait, n wait, den somehow things didnt feel so right le.. how come like e journey so long leh? so we decided to call ms lau, den she say juz take to e last stop n wait for her.. lol.. so okay lor, we took all e frm frm Union Street, thru Chinatown, all e way until Fisherman's Wharf! lol we were like, eh? go Fisherman's Wharf again? lolx..

but anw we tot still got lots of time, so we walked abit to a nearby hotel, cos we both needed e toilet, so went into this high class hotel n used their facilities=) haha.. den we decided to call ms lau again. apparently they'd already reach e 'last stop', but when we looked ard, they were nowhere in sight la! so we checked location, n they were in some Barnes & Nobles a few streets away! lol.. so whatever lor, we asked for directions n after numerous ppl, we finally found e Barnes & Nobles. haha.. ms lau was pretty glad we managed to find our way la.. haha.. oh well, it was quite fun la, another adventure for both of us=p

haha.. den yx managed to get like 4 bks here.. chosen by his v unique ways=pp wont elaborate here la.. but realli quite unique.. hahaha.. n i got quite a few bkmarks for my classmates there too.. then it was time to go le..

we took a bus back to Union Street, where we all had dinner at Macy's again! haha.. this time me n yx juz shared a spaghettini n a bbq chicken wif fries.. haha dun ask me y we ordered e same dishes.. but i guess we both liked them so ya=) den ms lau said after dinner we cld shop abit more if we liked n juz be back at e hotel by 8.30pm, so i got him to quickly finish by 7.30, n he pei me go to levi's to take a look! unfortunately i didnt manage to find anything la..=x was quite sad de..=x den we juz walk lor.. den yx say wanna take subway, den at first like quite hard, cos dunno what to do de.. den finally managed to find e control office tt acty had a person inside tt we cld ask.. so we managed to get a fare card frm e machine.. n e subway's quite nice manz! haha.. its like our mrt, but with our bus type of horizontal seating arrangement.. haha.. plus it was realli cushioned! like, gd quality nice cushion k! nt like our bus tt kind lousy de.. lolx=pp unfortunately it was juz one stop la, so didnt enjoy a long long ride la.. haha.. n btw e fare card is like s'pore's old fare card b4 ez-card came into existence.. n e fare gate is like exactly e same as ours.. or rather ours is exactly e same as theirs=p hhaha..

so it was v fast frm there to our hotel la, it stopped sth like opp our hotel onli=) den it was abt 8.15pm le.. (we left levi's at 8pm) n we went to subway to get our footlong sub! which we wanted to get since Day1 n didnt manage to..lol.. so anw quickly bought it n rushed all e way to e courtesy hotel rm where we put all our luggages n where we were all supposed to meet.. then apparently ms lau was gg to bathe, so me n yx decided to run over to Walgreens (a supermkt) to get more stuff to bring back=) so we ran over, he bought some chewing n bubblegum.. n we got some chocolate marshmallow 'eggs' for our classmates, as well as some mini easter eggs for e rest of TJChoir back in S'pore=) after which, we ran back to e hotel rm (my) top speed. haha.. n ms lau still hadnt finished bathing! lolll.. hee.. =)) so obviously i wasnt sad le lar, though didnt manage to shop much.. haha=pp

then, after much waiting n talking n stoning n slacking, we finally got onto e bus to e airport! during e journey, yx was like super funny la.. hahaha.. he was entertaining all of us wif all his imitations of Donald Kendrick, Anna Hamre n Stephen Kingsbury.. hahah.. super funny lar.. haha.. =))

den at e airport, security was vv tight.. even had to take off our shoes la lol.. den anw there was alot of time left.. so after finding tt there wasnt many shops open, most ppl juz sat down in e sitting area near our gate.. yx continued entertaining abit.. n i juz kind of slept abit.. cos it was abt 11+pm le, den our flight wld be at 1.10am..

den it was time to board e plane lor.. quite sad la, haf to leave sf le, after such memorable days there=x anw e plane ride this time wasnt as bad as e first time somehow=) partly cos i was quite slpy la, n managed to slp easily when i wanted to.. lolx.. den at taipei airport transit, we tried e noodle place tt ms tham recommended.. which was nt bad.. haha.. onli prob was tt yx had spent all his money, n i didnt haf any small change left=x cos they didnt accept large notes de..so danny lent us some money la n we survived.. lol..

then on e plane back to s'pore they screened rumor has it la! its actually nice de.. but i juz cldnt keep awake!! so i juz fell aslp while yx continued watching lor.. haha..

den.. finally.. reached s'pore le.. so fast la.. =x=x its like, in a flash, e whole trip was like over.. =x so anw we collected our luggage, den me n yx walked out tgt.. hee..=p den both our parents were waiting for us la haha.. den my mum acty bought a bouquet of flowers for me! lol so sweet la, but abit funny oso.. ahhaha.. den he left le towards e carpark, den our family oso went.. bad news was, it was 31deg outside!!!=x=x was melting as we stepped out to e carpark la.. lolx..=x he was also walking to his van la, den we were waving again, haha=) den we both walking in e same general direction la.. den keep waving.. haha.. was v she bu de la=x

ya den my family had lunch at eastpt, i ate abit onli lar, cos i ate one breakfast on e plane to taipei, plus e noodles, plus another breakfast on e plane to s'pore.. lolx.. so was pretty full lor..

ya so this is e end of e whole SF trip!!! wah.. took so long to type finish can! hahaha.. yayyy!! i've done it!!! though its like a week after it le.. lol.. it was realli a trip to remember.. sth i'll never ever forget throughout my whole life.. there was a whole lot of memories during e trip which i'll never want to forget.. some with e choir.. n some wif him=) i realli feel so lucky la.. ya.. now feel v thankful somehow.. haha.. okay i've typed enuf crap le, ur eyes muz be damn tired le bahz, haha.. okie end of post!

i'm vvv happi today!! (acty it was yest but i'm still happi anw so nvm=p) ahhah i promised in my prev post tt my nxt post (which is this post) would be happi n i'm keeping to tt promise=) haha, i've got a vvv gd news! hee.. i've told my parents abt me n my dearest yuxuan!!=DD yayy! i was super nervous yest, but thx to my essay-like planning (i considered my parents perspective, tackle e different areas of concern tt they'll haf.. etc) n of cos muz set e proper mood n environment=pp needed alot of planning de k! so anw now they generally approve! yay! of cos they had to talk abt studies n all tt la, but of cos since i pre-empted that..=) i shant elaborate too much on my planning le la, but i was quite impressed by myself=) oops..=p e point is, now they know n i'm more or less guilt-free!!=D

n also, on tues afternoon me n melissa went to weiwei's house!! haah we watched Yours, Mine & Ours (which hadnt even come out yet!=p) n Monster-in-law which was super nice!! realli enjoyed myself=)

n on tt same day, tues nite, me n mich met up wif e alto yr3s! so nice k! we went to swensen's for dinner.. n even though some couldnt make it, it was nice meeting up again after so long!=) n realli hope they're all happy, n go on to do what they want to do=)

n lastly, i juz finished helping nelly design her new blog template!! see it here! haha.. juz before doing hers i also did tpjc's climbing club blog, which i have nearly completed, juz tt i'm waiting for some of their pics so tt i can include them in=) n i'm pretty satisfied wif nel's blog!! v long nv do le, so feeling pretty refreshed after doing it, made me happy=)

got back chi ao results today. nt surprising. nt particularly sad nor happy, juz.. soso. didnt work for it la, so i cant say anything for myself. n considering there're ppl who did worse anw.. there's nth i can say; whether i'm disappointed or not. its juz.. like tt. well, great! i'm finally dropping chinese for eternity. though i lose one extra break in my timetable, this shld mean a better timetable for our class since i think we're all dropping chinese le.

anw choir yesterday was fun as always, and we sang witness n chacarera! haha.. before that was soundcheck, which was quite fun=pp lolx.. n grp3 was so jianded! i swear daniel did it on purpose.. the only comm members left testing them was me n danny! hmpf~ lolx anw after e soundcheck we sang amor n shenandoah n corrected some mistakes for our 'performance' nxt week, during the 'activity specially arranged with particular consideration to the students of TJC' (thats another story i might touch on later). after that, we tried combining chacarera without very much progress, but thank god ms tham came in time n she kind of salvaged the situation. was v fun la, but regrettably we didnt know our parts well enough so ya..=xx

2nd day or yr1 orientation today.. ran ard bedok area for abt 5hrs.. quite fun bahz.. esp e 'honk! if u think i'm hot part', where they had to stand by the roadside n get drivers to honk at u.. lolx.. quite funny la..

other than tt it was also our pdp exhibition.. performed abit n tried publicising ard.. n managed to get some to sign up for our auditions.. hopefully we'll get a gd batch=)

anw, been feeling abit low today.. dunno y, juz feel i cant seem to do anything right.. seriously.. i dun even know what i'm gd at.. and like i can say i want to do well academically, but i juz realli cant.. yet.. i wish i cld juz.. i dunno.. 'give up' seems rather dramatic.. but if i cld juz stop trying.. yet i cant.. its not a choice.. and its not juz academic stuff.. ohwellx.. cant exactly say what i'm thinking either.. bleargh.. and i'm yr2 already.. its my a's this yr.. i already kind of screwed up my o's.. and i totally wasted one yr in yr1.. screwed up my promos so badly.. ended up in this horrible crappy state that i juz deserved.. n i'm left with a's as my very last chance.. yet now, even though i had certain resolve to work during the holidays.. here i am, brains empty hw untouched.. nth done at all except for choir, playing maple, and pure slacking.. plus i'm now missing at week's work due to the orientation.. which, given my situation, i so shldnt have joined.. and i'll still be missing yet another week's worth of lessons in term 2 for our choir san francisco trip, though i'm vv looking forward to that.. all in all, i'm pretty screwed this yr again, unless i somehow manage to become a totally different person and actually start to mug. which, i say again, i cant! i cant concentrate. i cant focus. i get distracted by the slightest thing. in the end, nth goes into my head again and despite me realli realli wanting to do well this yr, i dunno if i can achieve that. i'm realli vv scared of this yr. i fear that once i screw my a's, i wont know what to do. so much, realli alot alot depends on my academic results this yr.. so much that i'm realli afraid i cant make it, then what happens? i dont know..

wah yesterday's concert rocks!!!! totally man. wheee!! e sound was nice n volume was perfect even though we performed w/o mics!! woohoo we rock! and i wan photos! but i cant find yet=x lolx, but i think we cld've performed better for navidad nuestra.. but it still rocks la!=) soloist rocks!!=D both.=) haha=)

so i'm suffering frm after concert hangover, n am officially extremely bored now. lol. listening to whatever songs i managed to find tt we sang.. haha.. and juz how unlucky am i??? firstly, today i woke up at 7am!! hallo??? i slept at 1am! and somehow my eyes juz popped open at 7! i was like, huh? i wanna slp! so being e unlucky person i am, i juz stoned on my bed for abt 2 hrs. like, what a total waste of time. lolx, i'm like super tired la, den dunno y woke up so early. siao sia.. somemore woke up with a totally dry throat and it was totally hurting me. so to relieve my boredom, i wanted to play maple! then!! there's a patch!!! so i cant play!! so what am i gg to do??? haiii..

hm. got back phys, maths, econs n chi today. extreme suckiness. esp maths, which i worked e hardest for but yet did not get results. e one i depend on e most. e one i thought i was most confident abt. yet..=x i did much worse for econs, but i was hardly affected cos i expected e poor results. maths was a severe disappointment. now im even worrying abt whether i can promote. like wow. n since when has phys beaten my maths. it was surprising when i received my phys.. i think my phys tutor's surprised too.. but for maths, i wanted so much to get at least a c.. was tt too much to ask? or i guess i deserved it.. after a whole yr of slacking.. well.. its over, i cant do anything about it now except to wait n see.

on a lighter note, we went to sakae sushi for e student's buffet today! me, shurong, wendy, melissa, weiwei n xiaoshan.. lolx.. ate until can die.. now almost wanna slp liao.. lol.. but muz do op=x sianz.. n finally ate some nice mochimochi! lolx.. mango was e nicest.. n nxt time muz find peach de to try.. haha..

(u might need to change your character encoding to 'unicode utf-8' under view>>character encoding) its e title of the syc ensemble concert yest!! cool sia.. first song onli ms tham had a solo.. ahh ms tham so pro.. and e guest conductor for tt nite was gary graden, who had conducted e world youth choir before too!! pro la.. omg.. and each and every song rocks!! e muocαaəyiyωcoum song is like 13min long.. and they managed pull it off damn well.. pro stamina can.. super impressed by them.. and another song rite, they stood around e first floor audience, then u could hear e individual voices, yet they also sounded as one.. ahh!! they rock! and gary graden's voice is totally wonderful!! all of us (btw that's me, yuxuan, melissa toh, yee chuin) juz wanted to melt on e spot liao.. its juz yeaman la.. i cant think of anymore words liao.. yest i juz went through a night of wonderful music experience~~=D

anw before that we were at e esplanade roof terrace.. first time went there haha.. it rocks! view is vvv nice.. then melissa toh was like taking photos of e sky.. haha.. den we were like listening to e erm, music.. tt they were playing at e open air stage thingy.. lolx.. e lyrics were seriously, hmm, needing alot of improvement.. lolx..

then we went to e counter inside to collect our tix for e concert, BUT unfortunately there was certain misunderstanding tt in fact we were simply supposed to buy e tix ourselves instead of collecting.. so anw ya, we bought e $16 tix instead of the $21 tix which we cld've bought for $18.. anw e seats were still quite ok la..

then.. after e concert, yee chuin's parents gave us a lift to bedok interchange.. den me n yx bought e ramil's burger! vv nice.. haha.. first time i eat it leh, lolx.. last time thought its quite unappealing de... but it was heavenly yest! esp since i was hungry.. haha..

anw its been e 2nd saturday which has been so fun le! last sat was comex.. dis time its muocαaəyiyωcoum.. haha.. hmm, but still, promos is coming.. haish.. sianz..=x

anw comex v nice la.. creative like got a super large portion la.. but anw i acty bought sth! i bought a travel loudspeaker for juz $19.90! haha.. but akira de la.. havent tried yet.. but wont be as good as creative de la.. obviously.. but i on a tight budget la.. so ya.. lolx.. argh! if onli got alot of money den can buy alot of stuff manz.. so tempting.. saw this super nice laptop oso.. quite small.. v slim.. super light! can bring to school la.. oh man.. hai wish i had enough money to buy that.. lolx..=x AND, anw yuxuan was looking for his mp3 player la.. den he bought frm akira de.. $89.. den when we got out of e comex.. he realised its silver not black.. so we went back, and wanted to change to e black de.. hahahaa..then we realised its not e one he wanted.. haha.. e silver one nicer.. then we ask them change back to e silver one.. hahah... interesting ritez.. e person like diao dao lidat.. hahah.. but e most interesting part is, when we walked out of comex, we realised its acty a 1gb version instead of 512mb!!! its like.. !!!!!! hahaha.. super good deal k.. hahaha... $89 for a 1gb version k!!! like, what the!!! hahaha.. pro-ness manz..

yesterday was the JTS (junior treat senior) for TJChoir!! rocks man!!=D

okay here i go on my longlong story again..=p

i was supposed to meet yuxuan n danny at 11 at parkway.. so took 31 frm my house at 10, so it was an obvious miscalculation! i actually reached in less than half hour!! how crap is that.. lolx.. and as expected both of them turned up late la.. so i had to wait like about 45min.. lolx.. wasn't too bad la, read about 30 book summaries (e one behind each book).. lol.. ya so yuxuan came, n danny came like 5 min later.. so we got e cups n got e vanguard.. then the drinks frm ntuc.. haha n danny had to lug all the drinks.. lol..

so we began our long n tiring trek to our pavilion at east coast.. okay it wasnt so tiring for me la..e other 2 were carrying e heavy duty stuff.. i was juz carrying my alto presents, chips and e vanguard=p.. yx was carrying e cups, danny was hugging e drinks.. lolx.. n on e way there we saw this tentage which turned out to be a body-building competition.. my god, those guys werent human.. ok i dun realli appreciate chunky types.. ew.. they were like dark n oily.. haha.. okay tt sounds pretty gross..

so continuing our walk.. blablabla.. about 35min..!! n finally caught sight of daniel.. lol.. n finally put down all our stuff.. the 3 guys played abit of soccer.. den i juz watch them.. den after tt we started preparing e prezzies for e seniors=D and then choir ppl started coming! as in us juniors.. then prepared e obstacle course of sorts.. n other ppl kept stepping all over it n destroying it! especially e canoeing ppl..!

den nearing 2oclock me n audrey went to mac to meet seniors who'd be there.. turned out we waited n waited but still like cant see anyone.. so we decided to go back to our pavilion which was like 15min walk away.. seemed pretty far lol.. then walked abit.. like 5min le.. den mel lee called.. so walked back again.. lol.. managed to get mellee, esther and izzati.. so yay! walked back to e pavilion.. by then all e guys were like playing soccer.. lolx.. horrible ppl.. den all e girls nth to do wan.. haha.. but e food come le.. den as more ppl began coming, we started off with.. food! lol.. ya so we began eating.. den we served e seniors lor.. haha.. den serve finish liao we started eating too.. but i din eat much la.. i drank e sea coconut n coke, drink until full liao.. so ate abit of e rice.. den super full le..

then we invited them to sign our signature board!! haha.. michelle design de=) den anw they sign.. n after tt we started our games! basically it was similar to our usual orientation game whereby there r 2 teams on either side..then one person runs along e raffia string until he/she meets e person frm e other side.. but this time, instead of scissors paper stone, we had to solve a maths qn, inverted! eg 3+1 is actually 3-1, so =2! and 4x2=2.. n so on.. haha..so ya, i played n was seriously confused.. e only time i managed it was when i tyco got e answer right.. haha.. so yea! this game was super fun=D

then we played this balloon game.. like haf to put a balloon between two ppl.. run along e course.. then burst it at the end.. lolx.. some ppl quite scared of it.. lolx.. lucky yesterday i had long nails so could burst it quite easily.. haha..

then it was time for present presentation! haha.. by this time i think about 5 le ba.. cant realli rmb, was having so much fun=P so anw ya.. e various sls presented e 'mugs' (which were actually cups=p) which were supposed to mean 'happy mugging'.. haha.. we put marbles, shell, n glow in the dark cats/dolphins/dogs/bears, and a personal note to each of them.. then we took a few photos..=) n e yr1s sang wuding, munnaeru.. and we sang sunset wif e seniors!! haha.. we stood in a circle, then kuanrei n mel lee conducted back to back.. haha.. so fun!! realli missed them alot alot..=x so ya.. took more photos.. n i gave e presents to e alto seniors=D was a mini tee n a fridge magnet lip=P *muacks*

after that.. we started playing by e beach.. wrote stuff in e sand.. talked.. sing song.. n alot of e guys kena dunk into e sea.. haha.. n some of e guys tried to dunk jasmine oso.. but failed due to strong defence from the girls.. haha..

guys started playing soccer.. while we sang wuding.. over n over again.. lolx we're seriously crazy over it.. whoops~

finally e guys finished with their soccer.. then me, michelle, yuxuan, timo and kenneth went to parkway hawker centre for dinner.. me n mich din eat.. cos oredi damn full le.. haha.. den after tt we went to play pool.. haha.. as of e previous time i still couldnt hit e ball properly.. but this time they taught me abit.. so now can hit it most of e time le=D hahaha.. after promos i shall practise in eastpoint until i wont so diu lian.. hahah..

so ya.. play n play.. haish.. so fun man..TJChoir 04 - 06 batches rocks!!

yest was totally cool!! TJChoir simply rocks my world=)

met in school at 10 for practice n warmup.. after lunch, took bus to marina bay le.. reached there about 1.30.. it was like totally ulu!! i mean the arts village where we were performing.. there was like onli e organising ppl in sight and maybe 2-3 ppl who juz wanted to sit there excl e organisers.. anw our performance was at 2.30 so we headed to e games village first! phew, took viking sia.. so fun.. haha, at first din realli want to take but den everyone take so i juz try again lor, and sit front row la so nt so scary.. lolx.. den anw v fun! hahah i made e correct decision to sit front row oso anw.. lol.. cant really stand e terminal velocity feeling, but everyone was like screaming and danny was like 'oh yeaaa..' lol.. n i'm like not e only one who was scared lah.. haha.. so realli enjoyed it=) then we took the octupus! haha tt wan quite fun.. turn round and round de.. lol..

then headed back to arts village juz nice, but late cos ms lau wanted to meet by 2.15.. oopz=x but anw performed lah.. super lame though.. hardly anybody was there.. got 3 aunties waving for us la.. lolx..and ms lau n jonathan supporting.. and chunkiat.. hmz.. and e organisers was like laughing.. dotz.. but anw quite funny oso la.. enjoyed munnaeru.. lolx..

okay, by that time my feet were killing me so i changed into my shoes.. yeaman. then we headed back to games village..!! haha.. tried archery! so cool.. tried before in ahs, but this time dun haf left-handed bow for me.. haha.. so not my optimal conditions.. den yuxuan was like trying to live up to his maplestory character as an archer.. lolx.. den we were all like trying to burst the balloon on the board.. but none of us managed to la.. lol.. then after this, we went to try bumper cars.. but not fun wan la.. cos according to chunkiat it was like super slow so no kick.. lol.. then after that we took crazy surf!! woohoo~~ this one super nice.. we all sat one row.. that it'll move up and down in a circle.. supposedly to imitate like a wave la.. sth liddat.. at first quite scary, but got used to it pretty fast=D it was vvv fun!! haha.. make ur whole body bang around in ur seat.. lol.. but still v fun=P finally we had to go le.. but we made a last min decision to quickly try music dance.. so yea! pretty fun too.. another spinning one.. lolx

but this time i guess we were a little too punctual.. onli jus reached in time.. ard 4.30.. then ms lau was a little pissed.. oopz.. but anw we sang.. this time got slightly more ppl, maybe ard 10?? anw ya.. ended wif 'pah dup!' again.. then we got free pandan cakes to eat.. lol

then finally went to games village for good.. on the way they play our 'lets get retarded' mass dance song!! hahaa then we were like dancing there.. in public! so funny.. then after that e emcee was like 'gd job!' haha.. TJChoir rox!=P

and guess wat?? we went to take crazy surf again!!! hahaah.. so cool.. TJChoir rocks again! lol.. anw we occupied the whole thing.. and the person controlling the machine was so funny!!! he was like 'u wan faster or not??' 'scream louder! nv eat issit??' lolx.. he damn funny la.. lolx.. den anw we screamed! n 'yeaaa-ed' haha so fun!! and continued again after this time.. so sat consecutively twice! haha fun sia.. we were totally addicted to it=D and the controller was seriously giving us max speed okay.. we banged right and banged left till our butts totally hurt! haha.. but v fun=P then we went to take viking again!! whee~! okay i wasn't totally loving viking.. but still fun la.. esp after e crazy surf we were all like getting high or sth.. lol.. but me, zoe, daniel and danny all cant really take viking wan la.. so we sat first row together.. hahah.. after tt danny, daniel, zoe n melissa din wanna go for e rides le.. so e rest of us queued for octopus again.. and while we were on e octopus danny was like showing off his new toy guitar tt he won in one of e carnival games booth.. lolx damn lame man.. but this time octopus not so fun cos quite slow.. den felt abit nauseous.. lolx.. but after awhile okay liao la.. faster more fun..

den zoe e rest disappeared so we called them back to ask them take crazy surf AGAIN as our finale! haha.. but onli daniel came to take wif us.. e rest we gave up persuading lol.. but when we were on e seats le.. den e controller was like 'we need three more!!' hahaha.. obviously he meant them la!! crap man!! hahah.. den a few strangers came up.. so tink left abt 2 seats.. den e controller was like 'we need one more!!' and pointing at those 3!! lol!! we were all like laughing all over.. but they din relent la.. so too bad lor.. haha.. but this ride super fun.. but sort of gotten used to it le.. juz kena bruised again by it.. lolx.. ached all over.. haha.. but it was a cool finale=)

then made our way to e mrt.. guess wat? we walked one whole big round around the entire carnival.. and realised 'hm, this place looks daaamnn familiar'.. almost wanted to strangle yuxuan.. lolx..anw we sang along e way.. relived old songs like cui dong cui, iddemdem.. and we sang amor to e mrt! ppl were like all looking at us.. lol.. some crap army ppl were like in front playing conductor.. dotz.. we juz continued lah.. lol..fun man! too bad we need a license to busk or we'd haf done so i believe=P

and then we took to city hall, and walked to marina square.. walked.. walked.. and walked.. reached the top level of e marina square shopping centre and found that e food court wasn't there! seriously wanted to strangle yuxuan and chunkiat there and then. lol.. but at least i wasnt too hungry la.. haha.. so walked back.. like really seriously walked back, so many familiar places ya.. somehow there was dejavu y'know? lol.. well, at least we FINALLY reached e foodcourt.. waited super long for seats.. but managed to sit together in e end.. yup=) i juz ate dessert.. cos liek i said i wasnt v hungry anw.. and after dinner everyone regained our spirits=) esp zoe.. lolx.

then we walked our to esplanade.. at first wanted to go to e roof terrace de.. but it was closed!! specially for today and tml!! crap la.. so disappointed.. nv go there b4.. so in e end sat outside esplanade near e river lor.. and juz nice when we reached there, there were fireworks!!=D ard 9.30 i think.. sort of missed fireworks.. hadnt seen them for gdness knows when.. enjoyed it alot=) and talked and talked.. woohoo.. nice man.. and we were like all complaining abt our various scgs.. and if only there's like a 'choir class'.. haha.. then we wouldnt mind even having a horrible timetable cos at least we'd totally love our class=D *imagine~~~* haha we were like, ok we can petition.. but obviously it wouldnt work lah duh.. haha..

and we kept on talking all e way till 11pm.. haha..some of them had to go le.. then e rest of us decided to change location cos it became pretty quiet there le.. so me, michelle, yuxuan, kengfoo, zoe and danny walked to a 24hr fdcourt 'Kopitiam' b/n cityhall and dhoby ghaut, led by chunkiat.. talked awhile.. almost 12midnight le.. well our parent's calls started coming in.. so we talked awhile more.. and started planning our way back by cab.. me, zoe, danny and kengfoo shared a cab cos we stayed at simei, then tamp n pasir ris.. and chunkiat n mich shared cos they were at marine parade n geylang, then yx took by himself cos his was like all e way at hougang.. super out of e way=x so anw went to get cab.. think some of them went to take bus or sth.. anw we got ourselves a cab..and i got down first.. when i reached home my dad look abit pissed la, oopx, oh well.. but at least wasnt too bad.. i juz bathed then slp le.. haha, on my bed i was still having the 'crazy surf sensation' haha.. =P

so yup.. after my super long grandmother's story.. yesterday rocked TOTALLY! love TJChoir kz.. makes jc life so much more bearable.. yea, hope after promos we'll have more outings!! hee=) and, totally cant wait for nxt yr's trip!! ahh!! =D

hm and now i've got bruises on my shoulder and legs.. lol. aftermath of crazy surf. totally wouldnt mind taking it again though.=D

yup.. ohno! but i cant say.. oh well..

anw i went to donate my blood today!!! hahah izzati went wif me=) so nice.. then anw got quite alot of procedures la.. ya.. so waited for quite a bit.. den finally my turn.. haha.. den when e nurse, or wateva she is, came and poke e needle.. e one for e blood.. she was like telling me not to look cos she scared i move mahz.. but i was like i wanna look! hahah.. i curious ma.. wanna see how its done.. how can i not see wat's being done to myself ritez?? haha.. den izzati was also like wat the? are u crazy? haha.. den anw ya.. she poked it in then i waited lor.. den i must haf moved my arm cos when the nurse came back to check on me she said ohno! it's swelling! haha.. den i er..? den she asked another nurse come see.. so i found out tt my movement caused e needle to puncture my blood vessel.. so haf to terminate the procedure!!!! so saddening ritez??? i waste all my effort to go donate my dearest blood.. poof man.. hmpf.. i feel so cheated.. haha.. ok la not really its my fault anw.. anw nxt yr i'll try again!!!

haha btw e bandages they used for after e blood donation (or lack thereof) had alot of colours lol.. n ppl were like 'cant i haf e orange one?' or 'can i haf e yellow one?' haha.. =) i chose pink=P

and for me to advertise our enterprise day again.. Come to TJC under TRC (near audi) from 2.30 to 4.30 next wednesday (27 July)!! we'll be selling belts, wristbands, necklaces, earrings, bags, tees and more!! all at reasonable prices.. bring enough money so tt u wont regret not buying anything=) Prices range from $2 to $12.

back from China!!!

yozzie ppl!! i'm finally back from China! i miss s'pore's toilets man.. so much cleaner.. no need to plan when to go toilet wan.. in china realli muz plan wan kz.. onli morning (at hotel), noon(at a gd restaurant) and night(at hotel again) den go sia..hahaha.. ok lah.. mebbe nt so extreme.. but sth liddat ba.. anw i shall try giving a summary of wat we did..=)

Day 1, May 30th
6 o'clock in e morning met at e airport.. den alot of parents were dere oso la.. mine oso dere for awhile, den they went to terminal 1 for their own flight=P (they're gg hk n china too.. hahaha) then we went to bk for fun cos we had nth else to do.. waited until we cld go in.. then got even more time so we took some photos.. walk ard abit.. and i saw my parents too! haha.. so lame sia.. then anw finally we cld go in.. and i was v excited manz.. all of us were itching to shop.. hahaha.. anw, we cld choose wat movie we wanted to watch, so i watched hitch! haha.. 2nd time le.. but still vv nice=) haha..out of abt 10 movies they offered i watched 6 liao la.. so yea.. haha.. e oso nt so nice thing is, we were planning to watch 2 movies mah, but e system is such tt each movie juz plays once on their respective channels.. so too bad lor.. haha..

and we finally reached hk! but it din realli feel like holiday acty.. cos weather's e same.. lolx.. juz as hot=X

immediately after lunch we had a talk by InvestHK.. e speaker was gd lah.. ang moh wan.. only prob is that we were all quite tired (wat u tink, wake up so early sia).. so alot of us were switching off during e talk lorh.. lucky my grp wasn't in charge of asking qns for tt talk.. lolx.. it became pretty obvious tt we din pay tt much attention when someone asked e same qn a second time.. lolx.. at least he answered differently.. haha..

nxt was sightseeing.. nt bad la.. went to Repulse Bay, Victoria Peak, n some fishing village, saw a giant flower made of gold.. and then to avenue of stars which was vv windy, and quite beautiful oso cos quite dark liaoz.. den its open air de.. got a river, den can see e city frm afar.. and on e floor got little little lights tt's supposed to resemble stars i guess.. quite nice lah.. took a few spastic photos too... hahaha..=P

at night we went to 'Nui Yen Gai' (Ladies' Street in cantonese).. its abit like pasar malam de.. we went to some dim sum shop for our own dinner.. but there was a majoy communication prob cos our knowledge of cantonese was pretty much non-existent.. except for occasional sounds of 'Hai' (Yes), 'Oi'(also another form of yes), 'Moi'(Dun want).. but we did manage to eat little.. then we went to shop.. but it was super stressful lah.. cos we shopped in a grp of 7.. then we had to wait for each other.. and quite paiseh to make others wait for u mah.. so i became quite toot.. due to e stress n e heat.. lolx.. so disappointed in tt place man.. i though cld get stuff there wan.. but quite lousy lor..

then we were v late to meet e rest of e tour grp.. then mrs lee waited for us to get our dinner cos we din realli eat at e dim sum shop.. she was v nice la, din realli scold us, somemore waited with us oso.. another tcher was quite toot though.. hmz..

anw when we finally got our dinner.. we went out to join e rest of e grp but they disappeared! so we went back first.. to our lousy 'Anne Black Guest House' which was super creepy.. and e rest apparently hadn't gotten back! so i took shelter in peizhi and peirong's room..watched abit of tv n played truth or dare for a while lor.. then later xiaoshan called to say they were still at nui yen gai!! siaoz.. so they quickly came back.. and i felt more at ease n quickly bathed..

went to shurong n weiwei's room.. haha.. then we were playing truth or dare again.. v fun sia.. haha.. they bought smelly beancurd too! n tt was e dare lor.. hahah.. i oso had to eat lah!! lol! somemore took a video of each 'truth' or 'dare' tt we did.. lol.. and tt night was e setting up of e 'Tribal Council'! haha.. cos of wendy's tribal style kind of necklace.. lol.. we even created a tribal pledge.. so lame sia.. hahaha..

n do let me say tt this anne black place is totally sucky.. so creepy.. luckily i was tired enough and juz slept till morning..

Day 2, May 31st
breakfast was two sausages n an egg.. how pathetic is that?! at least we stay in anne black for only one night..

after breakfast we went to a Jewellery Factory tt's co-owned by Jackie Chan apparently.. and because i didn't spend any money e day before, i decided to spend abit and got a 'magnetic' bangle tt's supposed to improve blood circulation.. seems pretty dubious la.. but i chose a Tiffany design for my mum.. and its quite nice la i think.. e rest of e jewellery was damn ex lah..

set off to ocean park!! my grp had to do e asking of qns for this.. quickly got it over n done with so tt we cld play.. haha.. got alot of things and too little time.. saw pandas!!! so cute man.. i love pandas.. hahah.. saw sharks, n alot of fishes la lolx.. as for e rides i only took a rollercoaster ride.. haha.. i seriously dun dare to take e pirate ship n turbo ride (the one tt brings u up dunno how many storeys and then drops u down).. lolx.. i'll probably juz die on tt terminal velocity/weightless feeling u get.. hahah.. but e rollercoaster was v fun=) haha.. i think i'll only like rollercoasters.. hee.. but i oso haven't tried 360deg ones cos it was closed.. lolx..
then after ocean park we had to take a train down from hk to shenzhen.. wif all our luggage!! somemore at shenzhen we had to walk a long way frm e train station to e bus.. and got so many stairs!=X

den anw we checked into Guangxin Hotel.. it was slightly better than e hk one.. at least it was a very little bit cleaner.. n abit bigger..

after dinner, we went to shenzhen night market!!! this place was great!! initially i was pretty irritated cos we were supposed to walk together as a whole grp, as in e whole tour grp! siaoz.. den i was like.. super disgusted.. but in the end it din work lah.. it became more of like 'ok, half hr here' for a whole stretch.. so it din matter la.. and i bought quite alot of stuff.. so happy man! wahaha..

Day 3, June 1st
today basically went to garment factory, where we saw process of making of clothes.. and went to Splendid China, which has mini historic sites, quite nice la.. n met my parents there.. lol! haha.. then e tchers were like, 'huh? ur parents ar here??' lolx.. interesting..

before dinner we watched a performance in Splendid China.. its v nice.. the stage somemore can spurt out water like a fountain in e middle wan.. lolx.. but we all v tired la.. so towards e end quite slpy lor..

after dinner we had another performance also at splendid china.. this one's totally grand man!!! even though it was damn hot la.. cos open air.. but there was one part water fell from the top of the stage then like waterfall liddat!! so cool sia.. then got one part some ppl rode horses past the stage k! tt's like.. whew! on tv u only get to see the scenery moving past the horse.. but i saw the men really riding the horse k! and not just one but alot! and the horses were galloping ok, nt just trotting ard.. so cool=D then after tt someone shot a fire arrow frm the top of a tree on e right to the top of the stage on the left n tt part jus became on fire man! e fire was so huge n even frm our seat u can realli feel e heat sia.. damn cool.. we din slp for this performance=P

Day 4, June 2nd
went to visit the orphanage today! the children so cute man.. got one like came.. den wanna hug liddat.. so cute..=D and they all wan sweets n chocs la.. lolx.. esp at the end they got so many liao still like nt satisfied wan.. diaoz.. but they all super cute lah...=D love them sia..

then anw after that was a 3hr coach ride to guangzhou.. played charades on e way.. got one shurong had to act out a tcher!! so farnie sia! hahahaa.. all on video!=PpP

then we went to this Beijing Road where we shopped alot too!! hahaha... i bought a shoe wif circular measure formulas on it! so farnie=P basically there was alot of shopping to be done=D

then we got the best surprise!! our hotel was an international hotel.. which meant its fit for human living!!! cool rite??? hahaa.. this was like heaven to us sia..=P

we had dinner at a small shop.. then walked ard near the hotel.. but nth much la.. everything was quite rundown..

after tt went for a foot reflexology massage! first time for me man.. went wif weiwei, peizhi, priscilla the tour guide, and mrs lee.. haha.. i did the milk one.. at first e water like v hot sia.. but once its in, it feels super shuang=) they even massage ur shoulder and back man.. vv comfortable..=)

Day 5, June 3rd
fifth day le!! felt like v fast liaoz.. dun wanna go home n face reality.. at first the first 2-3 days past v slowly.. prob cos it was super packed n v stressful.. but these 2 days have been v fun n relaxed.. was v happi.. =)

went to visit a hydroponics farm.. quite interesting acty.. saw so many different types of melons sia.. nv knew there were so many types.. lolx.. but the thing is it was super hot.. then sweating like hell.. lolx..

then after lunch we went to a whole sale market to buy our products to sell.. we were given abt 2plus hrs.. but seriously no time sia.. we only have limited items! so on Enterprise Day when we sell them.. must get them fast!!=D

at night, we had dinner at mac, cos it was pretty cheap in china.. n also abit sick of e food liao.. haha.. then we had foot massage again!! hahaha.. me, shurong, peirong, peizhi, weiwei and xiaoshan went for it this time.. lol.. but this time nt as nice.. dunno y oso.. e day before those masseurs were better i think..

then at nite went to xiaoshan's to talk for awhile.. then had to go to melissa's rm to settle our products.. and e accounts.. took damn long.. lolx.. cos it didn't tally sia.. was there till abt 2am.. lolx..

Last Day, June 4th
last day le!!! oh man.. i'll miss china.. n we all wont get used to e exorbitant prices in singapore.. lolx..and we the honolulu tribe has bonded so much le.. it's been so fun to be together really.. hope we get another chance to go overseas together again=P

went for more sightseeing.. quite boring lah.. n damn hot again.. finally lunch.. then to the airport liaoz.. took photo wif the tour guide..

i love s'pore airlines! sq totally rox.. esp this flight back home.. this time.. it had on-demand movies.. means like vcd liddat.. u can watch it anytime, rather than having to watch it watch it has started halfway if u had missed the starting.. i watched coach carter!!! super duper nice man! exciting right from the beginning and touching right to the end! this is specially for suaning carol=P tried to watch les choristes but only watched halfway cos of lack of time=X wished the flight was abit longer=P

at the changi airport carol came to pick me!! n obviously my parents too.. they arrived abt one hr earlier than me.. haha.. carol rocked, for once.. then me n my parents ate a bit.. chicken pie.. then went home.. aww..=P

lousy week

it's been about a week after concert n this is the first time i feel so bored and lost.. i think i've been complaining to just about everyone that this week has been bad.. like, compared to last week.. last week was so full of choir, i had sth to look forward to even if i had a bad morning.. the day would still end well.. this wk, on the other hand, if the day started bad, it ended bad. full-stop. i'm so glad this wk's over.. but there's still nxt wk.. seems tt nxt wk is totally full of things i dont like.. tests on the last wk of term, makeups, pending gpp discussion (i'm so guilty cos i haven't been able to attend a single grp meeting cos i've been so busy=X) and goodness knows what else.. i cant rmb.. ok i know plenty of other people are in e same situation, or even worse perhaps.. yea oh well, lets kampate together!

anw.. one good that happened this wk was TJC won HCI in basketball finals!!! woohoo!! how cool is that! wahahaha.. was cheering like mad=D and immediately got a sore throat right after the match lol.. but yest was a pretty bad day acty, left my wallet at home in e morning, so i had to go home after the match to get it cos e vjco tix were inside.. and partly cos of tt, i couldn't go for the choir outing! e last few meetings wif e yr2s and i couldn't go!! crappy man.. but at least was wif carol.. so from my house we took taxi to parkway (btw we met each other at e match already=P) cos there wasn't enough time.. bought rotiboy for myself.. bought flowers for weitin.. and lastly food n drinks for ourselves=P and then quickly rushed to e concert when it was about to start.. lolx.. lucky junyan reserved seats for us otherwise we'd have to sit at the upper gallery=D anw concert was good.. liked the last few songs.. oh ya, n met shiyun, yuxuan n justin at e concert too.. haha.. in fact, saw alot of tj ppl dere=D haha.. luv tj man.. lolx i feel so patriotic.. hhaha..

TJChoir rocks my world!!! yest was totally magical man!!! though first half cld've been a bit better.. but musical was great!! we were all singing our hearts out man.. was pretty nervous, but was generally quite ok i think.. hee.. yayy!!! n i got flowers!! hahah.. so happi!! den after e concert me carol n tho went for 'supper' whereby we drank sugercane juice n i was e only one who ate anything at all.. lol.. n i was so happi tt they all came! carol, nel, wt, tho, n oso my tj frens weiwei, shurong, melissa, peizhi, ziyu.. n of cos my parents=) thx everyone!

but also half sad leh, yest was our last time wif e yr2s.. even though it's onli been 4 and a half months.. but.. we've become so close.. with all the late night practices.. daily practices n what-not.. really cant bear to imagine choir prac w/o them liao.. even though like now will be time to really bond us yr1s as a whole.. but i'll really really miss e yr2s man.. quite hard to think of e choir cut into less than half its size now.. haix.. at least we'll still see them once more nxt wk.. then.. officially no choir wif them le.. oh man..=X

hmm haven't posted here for quite long.. anw it's been 4 days since TJChoir got GOLD!!! wont say much more, cos it's quite outdated already, but we were definitely great tt day=)

nxt wk will be one busy week man.. everyday gt choir.. but seems fun=) haha.. hai i dun wanna think of after e concert, when yr2s will be leaving soon.. will miss them alot man..

hmz, hopefully our tutors will understand and give us some leeway.. but i dont think they will.. wateva lol.. i'm planning to fail nxt wk's tests oh so badly.. n tt reminds me, there's a gp essay test tml.. how wonderful..

my horoscope was totally wrong for today.. lol.. it gave me 5 stars for everything: money love n attitude.. lolx.. on the contrary, i felt so crappy today cos of certain things.. probably thinking too much..and i was pretty poor today, didn't see anyone particularly attractive n nor did i feel particularly enthu.. feel a little out of place too.. suddenly go home so early today.. like nth to do liddat.. cos like everyday got choir den suddenly no choir.. lolx..

syf in ONE WEEK'S time!!! really wan tt gold n with honours if possible!

anw tt sat exchange wif hcjc n nj was great! haha.. got to see ms lim.. so nice man.. miss her lots.. wish can be conducted by her again.. even though ms tham rocks too!!=D they all rock lah.. haha.. juz different style of conducting.. after 4 yrs of conducting by ms lim.. realli miss her=) anw back to abt sat, apparently ms tham said we haf e same volume as the other 2 jcs! woohoo! rocks man! n after choir, me liujun n asih went down to chinatown to get our qipaos.. n i'm simply so fat! hai *hangs head down in shame* i haf onli gained weight ever since stepping into tj.. ohno.. i realli need to go on a diet.. but i always fail lol.. whoops~

woohoo i actually survived this week without getting into trouble.. lolx.. din do some impt stuff.. but managed to squeeze sth out lol..

but now the bad thing is i've got sore throat yet again!!! i dunno why it likes me tt much! n tml is the exchange with hcjc n nj man.. muz perform well.. cannot let ourselves n ms tham down.. n also e good thing is we'll see ms lim again tml! so cool kz.. man..=D
